How many have had shockwave and how were the results??  I have a gelding that has a slight suspensory strain.  He was dx last November and was given off until Apirl, he came sound.  He is a heel horse and my husband brought him back slow.  We went to a roping the end of June, then he came up limping again.  Brought him to the vet and he was sore in hocks, so we injected.   After a week he was still off so we took the horse to Purdue University.  Vet really couldn't pin point the exact area from where the lameness was coming from after blocks, xrays and ultrasound, so we did a nuclear medicine test.  Test showing front left suspensory area again, and left hind hock.  Suspensory only had a mild uptake, so he recommended shockwave therapy.  He said to do 3 rounds each 3 weeks apart.  He said suspensory was only strained and could not see any definate tears. Only thing that sounds bad is that it's at the origin at the top of the cannon bone.  Please let me here your stories, I'm hoping this works.

We have used this on a horse that had suspensory tears in both legs and it heeled it quicker that what it would have been without. Also used it on a horse with bad bedsores (the vets were willing to try anything to help them heal) I would definitely do it!

I have used it on a suspensory strain as well and 'knock on wood' it did the trick. I definitely recommend it.

I used it on a horse with a collateral ligament tear in a front foot and it worked great!

I've done the same regimen as you were told and had great results. Horse's had slight changes in fiber patterns, no tears. They came back working.

I did it on my gelding that had a BAD tare in his suspensory ligament... vet didn't even know if he'd heal good enough to run again and thought he'd be off at least a yr...ended up healing after 3 mos! never had an issue since. We did 3 rounds of shock wave.

Can you use back on track quick wraps after shockwave therapy?
