Any one have any experiences with a dog that has had a stroke? My cousins dog had one, they are treating with steroids but just wondered about using herbs or essential oils for this seeing as I've had good success with my horses issues with them. Doing some research but just wondered if anyone here had experience with it or thoughts on it...

After Londons first downhill slide with no mobility or response post amputation the vet put her on steroids .
After her being hot all the time , urinating constantly and drinking a TON of water I decided to go the holistic route and ended up being presented by our holistic vet back in California with Burdock Root as an alternative to the steroids. Not sure if it works for your specific ailment but I kept her on that for bout 4 months in combination with acuscope therapy and other herbs and shes been doing great.
Good luck !

Most dogs get over the so called strokes in 24-48 hrs without any treatment and are back to normal within a week. They are different in dogs than people

Talked to Joey this morning and her little dog is doing a bit better, is walking around again but still a little unsteady. So far the vets have her on sterioids , what kind I do not know.

I am familiar with Arnica and have had good success when applied ,
topically.
Its my understanding that arnica ingested is
VERY toxic
. It is good for bruising and inflamation but other than that I don't know the benefits of applying it prior to a stroke.

I had read that also, but it is strange too, because most places that sale Arnica sale it in a little pellet form like a mini pill that is highly diluted.
