Time for all the people to run out and buy all the bread and milk so they can have there milk sandwiches lol. I've never understood that. We go after water and Beenie-weenies and snack stuff. I'm sure I could go dig up some MREs left over from hurricain Ivan. |

That would be Isaac.. Unless you mean the one from 04 (even MREs don't last that long). We caught the eye on Isaac.. and I ate the last of those over the winter....

Location: Texas | I would feel bad for the people that live on the Texas coast if one came up but I think that's what it's going to take for us inland folks to get some rain. I feel sad everyday when I have to smell and see the rain other people around me are getting but I know they need it to. |

Yeah... until it starts to rotate they won't know much...
if it develops quickly and becomes strong it could recurve back out to sea, remember stronger storms start to move north more. But if it takes it's good ole time and churns westward with slow development it could take a more westward track then intensify in the Gulf or along the East Coast where conditions are highly favorable.

If you had kids, you would understand the milk and bread thing. It seems like we are constantly running out of those 2 things (along with eggs).
We were in Gulf Shores on vacay when they evacuated in front of Ivan. I was pregnant and we couldn't find anywhere that still had food until we got to Foley and traffic was horrible. That was a long ride for my poor husband. LOL. |

Ivan came on land in the Fl panhandle as a cat. 4 I believe and came though Alabama and went north east and went back out onto the Atlantic made a circle, cut back across the middle of fl and went through the gulf and to TX. the eye came right over us when it came on land the first time. Caused a lot of damage up here.

That is about the only way to fill up our tanks, lakes, and make a dent in our drought. I didn't do the ALS challenge because all I could think was "We're in a drought! And that is a waste of water." |

I agree we need the rain sooo bad to get our lakes back up, its been a hard last 4 years with this drought and I dont see it getting any better this year, we are so far behind on rain.. My pastures are so brown, worry about grass fires.. |

We've only gotten one cutting this year. It was pretty trashy (lots of Johnson grass), so it's being fed to roping steers. We won't get another cutting this year. Everything is brown. I get so mad when I see lush, green lawns in town. Makes me so angry. In my little world, water is more valuable than gold. |

Oh I know, it makes me sick with all the rain that gos around us, we only got one cutting to and we round baled it not very pretty hay, but the donkeys will eat it. Seems it will rain in town but not out here. |
