I've just about had enough of this. About a year ago i started getting spiders and other creepy crawlies around the barn. It was in small quantity so i paid no mind. But NOW? Now I've had enough I'm killing about 10 Black widows a week along with other crawlies I dont want in my barn or around my horses (poisonous/dangerous to their health.

I have exhausted all of my ideas and suggestions. I have bleached areas down where they frequent. Sprayed bug/spider/ etc spray monthly to make them stay away and NOTHING has worked so far!

I was just out working horses and killed 3 black widows tonight. they were all in places i had just sprayed down not more than 5 days ago....

PLEASE PLEASE if you have ANY suggestions to kill, Repel, deter anything by all means please post it. I'm about ready to not go out by my own horses any more!

Call the exterminator immediately! They come loaded for bear with potions you have to be licensed to use. Rates are usually totally reasonable compared to what a black widow bite will do to you.

I agree.  You need to call a professional.  It will make a world of difference.

Use wasp spray for the spiders... my exterminator told me about it. They are hard to treat because of the sticky stuff on their feet, but something about the wasp spray works.

That's what I do.  Don't have to get close to them.  We also just got chickens for bug control and have some guineas coming.

Thank you! I will try the wasp spray and see how that works. I had a professional out once a few months ago, and the spiders were back with webs up within a month or less.

If the wasp spray doesnt work I might have to just suck it up and have one come out monthly, but to add another expense to the barn is just ugh... at the moment. but better than spiders i think.

Try Tempo dust...you can use just the straight dust or mix it in water and spray it in areas you find them..corners..cracks..under items..and the waterwill dry but the powder/dust will remain...you put it right on them or their nests or where they may set up house and when they walk through it or it contacts em it kills em...look for theirlittle white egg ppouches andspray those to kill the eggs.. .i was having the same problem and a friend recommended it and it works wonders! You can get it at Tractor supply or most feed n seed stores...

Have you tried Tempo?  If not spray down with Tempo and dust with Garden Sevin dust.

Chickens and wasp spray are effective at our house. The first year we moved into our house, I killed more than 50 black widows (that's when I quit counting-there were more) in the barn. I also have an exterminator come spray every couple months. But I do raids in the barn with my wasp spray. Don't have to get close and it's a stream of chemicals not a spray like spider spray. I have to really hunt for them now.

I am so sorry you are dealing with this! My husband and I killed our first black widow a few weeks ago in the barn. I am glad he was there because I was tempted to burn the thing down lol!! I am from MN and we didn't have any black widows there like we do here in the south. We had a exterminator out the following week. We are still seeing some spiders but nothing poisonous at this point.

Thinking of you and my heart hurts for you. I think I would stay in a box and not come out! Spiders scare me!
