Location: midwest mama | I've been shopping for smaller LQ trailers, and several that I have found have the Plexiglas on the butt side of the trailer. Everything else on the trailers are what I want, but I'm not sure about the Plexiglas part.
Anyone have experience with these trailers? What did you like or hate about them?
How is the resale on them?

Location: lone star state | They let air flow through well they are much better than the sliding windows. If I could not budget drop windows on tail side and rear door I would choose plexi slats. The down side is they are a hassle to put in and take out compared to drop windows. It may take 30 minutes for one person to replace for winter. Hassle when days too warm and nites cool and need both in same trip :( |

We use to travel between Illinois and Texas all the time and had all kinds of problems when I had my stock trailer with the bugs when we would stop. Bought one with drops and have screens and that ended. Going through Arkansas was always really bad even if we just stopped to water. |

One year we stopped in Arkansas to sleep a little and the trailer went to rock and rolling. I went back to check on the horse and I couldn't believe how many mosquitos were feasting. I sprayed him down and got back on the road. Poor horse was full of welts. |

I had a Sundowner stock trailer and then we bought a Sundowner 3 horse gooseneck that had screens on all the windows. |

Location: In my own little world | Love my plexi slats. No issues with hinges going bad, windows not shutting, screens getting tore up and all the other things that can potentially happen with a window that is expensive to replace. If you break a slat they are cheap and easy to replace.

| I LOVE my trailer with stock on the butt and plexi glass. I just don't see where there are any cons what-so-ever...yes, it takes a few minutes (a very few) to take them in and out but not enough of a hassle to complain about. I have two trailers...my LQ has drop-downs on the butt. My 3 horse GN has the plexi glass. I like them both. What I would never want to have again is a trailer with the small bus windows butt-side...those, I HATE! They don't let enough air in when the temps are scorching in the summer. |

This made me LOL. Yep, the bugs are horrible here, especially in the Delta where I live. I'm surprised my horses have any blood left. When I haul at night in the summer, the head side windows are up because even with screens and fly masks, the bugs will get blown in their faces badly. |

| I had one love it until winter the blowing rain and snow the back stayed wet had to be careful about leaving bedding in it. As in virginia our trailers set for several months some times.

| I have a lil run around trailer, 2 H slant load. The plexi on the rear side is WONDERFUL. It is VERY easy for me to pull out and install. I don't have any issues.
I would not let that deter me from buying or using a trailer. |
