Location: Mississippi | So, I have mono for the second time. The first was in 2008 and I was out of school for three months. No riding for WAY too long. I was miserable. I keep feeling exhausted, been sick for weeks, and I finally say it is NOT allergies. What is wrong with me? They test for mono because I have "every sign" (swollen glands, exhaustion, weakness, etc.) BAM. Mono. Here I am. Missing work (I am a teacher) because I can hardly stay awake or stand up for longer than 10 minutes. Wondering when I can get back on a horse. I just started hauling again after years off, and she has won every time she has been shown. I was so excited about getting her going. And I have a baby to start this winter. So much for that. I am stuck in the house, watching videos of other people run-when I can stay awake. I also have homework to do, because I am in school as well.
Sorry to vent, just needed to! |

Get as much rest as you possibly can... |

I had shingles earlier this year. It totally sucks. I got it on my back and chest and had a barrel race that I had to attend since I pre entered. It was not fun trying to ride with it. Now I think I have nerve damage from it. Normally older people get it but I guess I'm one of the few younger people that get it. |

Last year was my first year teaching and i had my gallbladder removed. This year its mono already. Going to another doctor tomorrow to see how serious it is. Think i have bronchitis as well, so thats been fun.At least we have each other? Lol |

Location: In Husker Land | Look into hip impingement. ..I had it along with a labral tear and a hip flexor snapping syndrome. Had surgery last November and was a long recovery, but started back riding mid May and have never felt better. Went to several docs as they always thought it was my back..I knew it wasn't and finally my physical therapist found the labral tear and thst hot the ball rolling. I completely credit my physical therapist for discovering my problem!

Location: Deep South | Oh gosh, I had mono the summer of my senior year. Terrible, terrible, stuff. I don't think I got out of my bed for 3 weeks straight, what finally got me on the track of feeling better was just going on into the ER and having them put an IV in me and I think? they gave me a shot of steroids. I had been drinking fluids, but the IV and steroids were like a power pack for me and I really turned around and started improving after that.
It was still months before I felt completely back to normal, as far as being able to exert myself at the level I could before, but still! It got me out of the bed!
Prayers you feel better soon. It is truly awful. |
