After wondering why T-Bo hasn't been running hard-at all-I had a Duh! moment...
He hasn't been on his U-Guard for a while because the all-in-one sup I started him on had all the same ingredients just slightly lower amounts.  So I figured I'd just do one and see how it went.  He hasn't been super grumpy but he is not running, he looked like he was just coasting our last couple of runs.
Since he always just been on a maintenance type product, I figured it would do him good to actually be treated for ulcers.  I weighed my options and went with Ulcer Cure OTC.  It should be here in a few days.  My question is this:

On the website it says to give 1.5 hours before the normal feeding time.  Why?  It would be really difficult for that to happen...
I normally dump feed, ride, clean his stall, and head off to school/work/whatever.  He gets a few bites in before I take him out to ride, then he finishes after his workout.  I could give him the med with a bite of feed before I ride, then feed him afterwards but that still wouldn't be a huge time gap.
Is there a medical reason for the time between giving the med and feeding?  Have any of you just given it as a top dress with their normal feeding?

You should message Douglas Gordon with your questions it is his product and he is AWESOME to work with. The way that I understood it was so that the meds lined the stomach directly when it was empty before it got filled with food so that way you can ensure that the meds are being direct on the stomach lining.

I mixed mine right in with his feed because it was just too much of a hassle to do it all seperate. Just not able on my time schedule.  I had really good luck with it that way but I can see the reasoning for the seperate feedings. Ask Douglas, he can tell you all you need to know. Really great guy to work with.

When I was treating my gelding for ulcers because he had coliced 3 times I fed it as instructed for one month. Then I fed it every day for another month mixed in with his feed. Now when I feed as a maintenance dose I mix it in with his feed.
