He said if we pulled out early, this would be the consequence. We were warned. We completely left Iraq, and what he said would happen.....happened. I don't know why I can't post the hyperlink, but I promise it is well worth watching:

I think the jury is still out on the WMD issue, and whether or not we should have invaded in the first place. I for one do remember how Colin Powell presented a compelling argument before the UN, and I also remember how so many Democrats were also in favor of the invasion, based on the intelligence. We all know the debate on that issue. As to how long we should have kept troops there, I don't think many people thinks they ought to be kept there indefinitely, however, establishing a base for a long term committment definitely had merit.....we are seeing evidence of that right now. Unfortunately, I don't see how we have a choice but to be involved, now that we know there is a growing threat of radicals and terrorists whose ultimate goal it is to destroy the USA, even more than Israel. This isn't a regional conflict anymore. This is an international conflict, and soon we will see more evidence of that. There are many realistic scenarios that could ultimately lead to a world war, possibly one in which there is a nuclear conflict. I think Bush would have favored a much more gradual withdrawl, but not a complete withdrawl for the forseeable future. He was 100% accurate in his predictions in his remarks in 2007. Romney was as well, in 2012.

Location: Online | Everyone says we should have never been there to begin with, and in a way I agree with that. However, we did go in, and all the Bush haters think they are so smart now that we know that it was a mistake. It doesn't matter that he had the ok from Congress. If only Bush had a crystal ball. If only he was psychic and knew terrorists were going to fly planes into buildings killing thousands of Americans at that time and place propelling us into a war, he could have stopped it all. (Of course the truthers think he did know and plan it - tongue in cheek - just like Obama was born in Kenya).
It doesn't matter which side you are on, the past is the past, what has happened has happened. There is no use in dwelling on what we should have done and what we shouldn't have done 10 years ago. Let's focus on what's happening now. Pulling out was a bigger mistake, Obama promised we would pull out in spite of continued warnings of what would happen. And low and behold, those warnings were true. That's on his shoulders and his alone. Even though he denies it.

No, bush was not right. Instead of covering for his saudi butt buddies, we should have nuked them. This whole winning hearts and minds bullshit cost us a lot of blood and treasure. You can't win the hearts and minds of koranimals that hate everything we used to stand for. pisslam has always had one goal only, to destroy human civilization and dominate the world with their shariah law bs caliphate. Oh, and obola is an insane, mass murdering, commie, pisslamic terrorist.

It didn't NEED to be a decade long war, but Korea got it started, Vietnam was the real proof, then every war that has followed. Politics get involved to the point a decision can not be made. The men fighting just mill around not really being able to do what they were trained to do. What they joined the military to do.

Yes, I was just talking with a neighbor about this. How all the young fellas are fighting issues that usually stem from their fathers time. Here is something I found on facebook this week that I really enjoyed.
am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing backwards.Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 35. For starters, researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every ten seconds. Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a month, leaving us more than 280,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy. Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts! I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry.' Were bad-tempered and impatient, and maybe letting us kill some ***hole that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while..... An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10am. Old guys always get up early to pee, so what the hell. Besides, like I said, I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical son-of-a-bitch. If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser. Boot camp would be easier for old guys.... We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food. We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling. They could lighten up on the obstacle course however..... I've been in combat and never saw a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any push-ups after completing basic training. Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too..... I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet. An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him. He's still learning to shave or to start a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head. These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way. Let us old guys track down those terrorists..... The last thing an enemy would want to see is a couple million hacked off old farts with bad attitudes and automatic weapons, who know that their best years are already behind them. HEY!! How about recruiting Women over 50.... in menopause! You think MEN have attitudes? Ohhhhhhhh my goodness!!! If nothing else, put them on border patrol. They'll have it secured the first night!

I am still not 100% we should have gone to Iraq but on e we were there we should have done a better job Not sure why obozo feels he need to tell enemy combatants our plans. What a jackass! I served for 8 yrs in the USAF and my ex husband serves for 22 yrs in multiple missions/wars etc. I am not ashamed of our country and never will be but I am ashamed of our leadership the last 6 years. I can't say I agree with all GWB did but he sure as heck kept us safe here at home and had the respect of world leaders and he sure as heck would not be sitting still for the recent be-headings! Sorry for rant I just don't understand where our country is headed and how we got here.

I'm afraid with how ISIS is with all of these homegrown conversions that have regular passports that can go back to their "home" country, we will see some fighting on many home fronts :(

| My understanding is the Iraq Iran war was due to religious beliefs and territorial disagreements that stemmed back to the relocation of people after WWII.
If the UN/USA did not fight the war overseas, why would people think the war would come to North America?
Personally I think the way to protect our borders is by sending all people landed immigrants, refugees, non native (not born on North American soil) back to their home country if they have any communication/ties to any terrorist organization.
I know the UN is trying to get all allies to sign an agreement to spend 2% of GDP (I think is the term) and 50 percent of that spent on new equipment, and jump to action and war when one of the alliances asks to. This is because of Russia taking over the Ukraine peninsula.
I am actually glad Canada hasn't signed, as I do not agree that a country should enter a war just because an ally asks as most wars are fought for financial gain, I think it needs to be each individuals country decision to join.
Also I have friends overseas that say the news broadcast is completely different as to why Russia invaded, and I am actually glad they did, there is a nuclear power plant there, in the wrong hands (terrorist organizations) this would have been detrimental.
