The seem like the fit her hoof but there hard to get to Velcro. Is that just because there new? I'm not sure exactly how there suppose to fit.

They shouldn't be hard to get the velcro to come together ... On mine, the velcro doesn't meet up exactly at the end, but far enough down I can get the lil rubber band to slip up and onto the top part. Did I just confuse ya??! LOL.

I agree ... Pics please!

Probably a stupid question but do you put them on over horse shoes to protect them traveling and in stalls with concrete floors or do you use them on barefoot horses for protection?  Thanks

Both! It is really nice to have all 4 four for places with concrete stalls... This will be my next investment.

That sounds about like what mines doing. I know it's not but it's like the Velcro is too short. I played with them agin this morning cause it was kinda dark yesterday and I noticed she puts her foot in crooked. Idk if it's just her or her shoes or what. The inside of her foot velcro good but the out side just barly reaches. My camera wouldn't cooperate this morning for pics but I left them on her today so I'll try pics tonight. They were easier if I picked her foot up and put it in the boot then Velcroed it before I let her put it down. Yesterday I put her foot in and let her put it down then Velcro it.

I forgot I did get one decent pic. And this is the text I sent a friend that uses them maybe it explains my problem a little better.

They look all crooked too me but that's how her foot goes when I put it down. It always is crooked. I can't make them straight to save my life. They will be straight but when she put her foot down there crooked and I can only Velcro one side.

The frog imprint in the pad on the inside should fit with her frog so the boots are on straight.  If they are turning that much (after you put them on correct) they might be too big.

hmmm ok - two ideas -

1) you might need a different size. - some horses, depending on the slope of their hoof and how slung under their heels are may need different sizes on each foot. (Like a 5L and a 5)

2) pick the foot up, place the soft ride onto the hoof (keeping the toe where her toe is/ so if she toes out, rotate it so that the toe of the SR also toes out) then hold the soft ride in place as she puts her foot down. THEN do up the velcro - I like to do up the inside piece first and then the outside, pulling as snug as I can.

3) You may have to go up a size and then pack the inside of the SR with wool so that the foot is in place correctly. Looking at the hoof on the left, the toe is too far forward in the SR and not placed squarely under the hoof and how the hoof turns out a bit ... There are not TONS of sizes with these but you can adapt them pretty easily to almost all hooves.

Good Luck!!!

My vet ,who had a part in making these, measured her and said to get her a 5. But when I called to order the guy on the phone said no she needed a 5L. I was told I could send them back if they didn't fit which is fine but not sure what to swap them for.

Make sure the inserts are not crooked.  They shouldn't look crooked on her feet unless her legs are crooked.  I'm still not understanding the difficult to velcro part.  First, make sure the inserts are in straight.  Pick her feet up, put the boots on, try to velcro them before she sets her foot back down.  It takes practice.  I swear my good horse can put his own soft rides on now.

How much space is between her hoof wall and the edge of the soft rides on each side?  Do the bulbs of her heel hang out off the bag?  Based on the single blurry pic I don't think you need bigger, I think the inserts may be in crooked.

I emailed the company and sent them pics. The lady told me they were too big. The guy I first spoke to said she was a 5 but had hooves were going to grow so I need a 5 long. So that's what I got. I tried to explain to him that the measurements were of her shoe and her shoe is a tiny bit bigger than her hoof and her hoof wouldn't never be bigger than the shoe. Idk if he didn't understand what I was telling him or what. The lady from today told me if her shoe was bigger and that's what I messured then there was no reason to get them bigger if her hoof wouldn't ever be bigger than her shoe. She was AWESOME by the way. She's going to send me a 6 and 6 long to try. She said when I tried them get which ever one fit best and send the other 2 back.

They did the same for me. Sent me extra pairs and had me send back the ones that didn't fit!

You are right.  I have found that it is easier to velcro before you set the foot down. Then you can re-adjust (if you need) to after you set it down.

Granddaughter's horse had some hand-me-down Soft Rides that finally just gave out.  We decided to get him some of his very own so we measured his feet and took the tracing to the vet that has a display and he said we needed a 5L.  Ordered them and got them in 2 days and I was impressed with the fast delivery, but they did not fit.  Called Soft Ride, (yada, yada, yada) and we sent them back and they said they would send a 5.  I spoke with them about 12:30 yesterday, new Soft Rides arrived this morning about 10:00.  Now that is really FAST service. Crossing my fingers that these fit.
