Expert Posts: 5290	I just bought a 3 year old and he will be getting the loading dose of Adequan ASAP. He has perfect joints and Perfect cartlidge. I want to keep it that way for as long as possible. He is also on an oral joint supplement. In couple years when I am competing on him he will get either polyglycan or Legend before he runs.

Neat Freak Posts: 11216 Location: Wonderful Wyoming	I've never used the others because my vets in this area seem to be fans of Legend. But I had my gelding at 5 on it because he was having issues, he is the one with the pelvis fracture so of course it didn't do any good. I kept my stud on it every month these past 2 yrs. I really do think it helped.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 330	My gelding just started showing signs last fall (cross cantering, not really tracking up behind at the lope), I had him xrayed, and he has changes in his hocks. I waited until this spring to start him on Pentosan and have noticed a huge difference. He will stay on it now during work season. I don't ride over the winter, not barrels anyways, when I do ride its Dressage at a local barn. ETA: He's 8 now, so he was 7 when he showed signs of needing something.
