Hope you don't have any close neighbors..........when ours shoot it ruins your whole day.  I hate them.  The noise is deafening.

neighbors are over rated......... and we had a yearling grazing right behind us getting use to it....although he already seemed to take no interest in the noise......

Good fun!!  Great that the kids are out there learning proper fire arms handling and the fun of shooting sports.

Guess I'm glad we don't have close neighbors...wouldn't want to be hated for doing what is legal on our property on the rare times we do it.  We shot last weekend as well.  Making sure the rifles are sighted in for deer season coming up.  Our neighbor drove over to join us.

I like to pull when the guys shoot.  It doesn't bother my horse or the cows one bit, but my yella belly lab/golden mutt goes ape chit & will dive for cover wherever he can find it.  I shot my husbands gun once......once.

My hubby volunteered me for a trap shooting league this fall.  It's been pretty fun, once they stopped telling me what I was doing wrong!  LOL  I shot my best last night.  33 out of 50

Is that a .410 the little guy is shooting?  What fun.  Trap shooting is a super sport to get kids into.  Started mine when he was 9, with a .12 gauge  and he loves it.  Kudos to you - it's a great way to get horses used to loud noises too.  Thanks for sharing.

My husband is obsessed with sporting clays.  He has 10 traps, I am his designated puller, I have zero apptitude for shooting.

By the way, trap shooting is an event at the National Finals High School Rodeo.  You shoot at state level, hopefully qualify at your state finals and are part of your state team and they give Gist buckles for 1-3 place.  do this, it has been an awesome thing for my son to get to go to Rock Springs and shoot.   It was super tough this year, they had 128 trap shooters at finals and you had to shoot 98 out of 100 in the first 4 rounds to get in to the final shoot-offs.

How'd she like that? My shoulder was killing me, and that was years ago, bout all I remember, lol.   My son can get a bead on anything, he's got an over/ under that he likes real well but  he loves his bow just as much .  I said that's good with the price of ammo. :)

I have a Recoil Pad I wear for shooting.  It makes a HUGE difference!  I had trouble with the 50 cal muzzle load rifle until I got the pad.  Now I can shoot much longer...whatever gun and no bruises or pain.

Part of the shoulder hurting issue could be the load size.  My hubby shoots 1 1/8 Oz. of powder.  It killed my shoulder.   I shot 7/8 oz loads the other night and didn't have any pain or bruises!  :

But like most guys...they think bigger is better! LOL

yes, a .410.....it's kind of a help and hindrance.....not much kick to that .410 so good for starting but you have to be a good shot to hit anything with it....but he busted a couple which surprised me....if you can hit stuff consistent with a .410, you are a pretty good shooter....
