Location: Texas | What do you think, such as results and how much did you feed? I have noticed that you really don't have to feed that much of it. Plus if your horse got "hot" how much did you ride during the week?

I fed according to the bag. It made my show horse super hot. He also wasn't getting much exersize so that may help some. Mine was 1200# or so and I fed according to the bag. Loved how the horse looked on it though, but I have since switched to feeding ADM PrimeGLO to him and he still looks amazing. He's on THE Muscle Mass as well. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Mine was actually beyond plump and I recently ran out of Amplify and my old pony gets that so I decided to use up the 3 bags of Ultium that I had sitting around. He gets a small scoop once a day and it has helped him. Other than getting hot and costing $25+ a bag I did like it. |

| I liked Ultium, but didn't love it. They looked great when we lived in Texas, but when we moved to Oregon, it didn't work for them anymore. They just lost some weight and didn't look all that healthy. We do have super low Selenium here, though. I fed slightly less that what the bag called for. Depends on if you are supplementing or not. If you're not, then feed closer to what the bag says, if you are, then adjust accordingly. Now they are on LMF + Platinum. |

yes, I had feed a 14% and my mare was getting sore, The vet had said that with her I have to watch since they pull energy from fat that I need to either switch feed or add a fat supplement. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | not at all, he was an unstarted 3yr old shown in showmanship, however that was the main complaint when I posted on here about Ultium, that it made most peoples barrel horses hot. That is the last thing a show horse needs lol. |

My finished horse will get bigger and hotter than a house on very little of it, but he sure looks good! I plan to keep the 3 year old on it until he is done growing or starts getting to fat, then switch. |

that was my thing too. He was on Ultium Growth from 1-2 1/2 and then I switched him to Ultium. Sent him off to be started the spring of his 3yr old yr and he was off grain the day he left here. It took a week for him to quit playing so hard during turn out. But he was great to ride after that. I got him back and he was injured so I put him back on the Ultium. When the injury was healed, I went to ride him and he was a goof. I did find out he had another underlying injury, and a saddle that pinched so that was a lot of his issue, but now that he is on corral rest I'm glad he is off the Ultium or he would be hard to keep mellow. |

Location: Fort Collins, CO | i LOVE ultium. it's my go-to feed for putting weight on a horse. my older guy is 22 (still running barrels like a madman!) and he stays plump on 1 lb a day and 20 lbs mix hay. he's always been a bit more of an easy keeper though.
fat is a cool energy source, so it shouldn't make a horse hot, however every horse is different and they may just feel REAL DA*N GOOD on it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the stuff! you don't have to feed any extra fat, just a vit/min supplement if you aren't feeding 6 lbs a day. Which you shouldn't be unless you're really trying to put the lbs on or are hauling all the time for the NFR

| I give my finished horse Triple Crown Senior. He is only 8, but he does really well on it, it has all the vitamins and minerals they need and is easily digested. |

| It is the best feed mine have ever been on. I have seen the most level results out of all the ones I am feeding. All stay fat, all stay sane, no problems at all. With everything else I have tried, at least one or more would loose weight or be an idiot. Plus I am feeding less now, than with Strategy or others. Love the higher fat, lower protein of this feed.

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | One thing I liked about the Purina Ultium is they have coupons emailed to you. So I could actually catch a break here and there. I still think ADM is a higher quality feed and my 2 are getting at most 2#'s a day. It costs more a bag, but is cheaper in the long run for me and they honestly look just as nice or better. But alot of areas don't have ADM so Ultium would be a good choice. |

| I like ultium. I just had a little trouble keeping it in the heat here. Since I didnt feed that much of it. Had a few barrels go rancid on me during the hotter months. Id definitely use it again if I needed to in the cooler months. I never experienced my horses getting too hot on it. |
