So I have this little sorrel mare, just now 8yo, turning out to be a late bloomer, any who we were contemplating breeding her come spring time just to give her a break from the arena, she would carry the baby via AI.
She is around 960lbs and about 14.2hds, she is own dtr of Randy Dubose stud "Uno" Flits First Fling by Barbara Kellys Flit to Kill, her dam was/is a race mare and own dtr of Flaming Jet.

By "type", I mean:
"older hearty blood" such as the Flit Bar, Doc Bar, etc.....
"cow blood" such as Starlights Wrangler, Freckles Playboy, Peppy San Badger, Smart Little Lena, etc....
"racing blood" such as Power Storm by Storm Cat, Rare Cigar by Rare Bar, Corona Cartel, Jet of Honor, etc....
"designer blood" such as Dash ta Fame, Frenchmans Guy, etc...

| I would go with Racing Blood. Seem to mature earlier than some of the cow type horses. If she was a late bloomer maybe a Race Type that was early maturing would help. I sure like the Corona Cartel horses I have seen and they look like horses that can do anything. |

Sweet First Down horses are HOT on the track this year. I want one of his. They're awesome horses to be around! |

| Find a nice son of corona cartel. I have two, both by different sons, both good minded and smart. My yearling, i can put a halter on her pick the rope up like a rein, with almost no pressure will give her head and i touch her with my brush andnshe will move her hip. She is so,fancy on her topline almost looks like a reiner, so balanced. I cant wait to,ride her. I know she will ride, as her moma sure did. They did not promote the stallion after my mare matures they will be sorry. But i rebred my mare, with the wacky virginia weather mare cycled offmwe,did not,get her settled until end of june. I will take what i can get. If i get another like my filly they will be fighting over the second baby, which will be for sale to,pay for the first one. there are a ton of corona cartel sons find one with a good female line one that will add strength to your horse papers.

| I guess I am wondering what you mean by late bloomer? Some refer to that as mental stability and some to physical stature.
Cow horses IMO do mature slowly physically but I dont think that mentally. |

Location: NE Texas | Having recently acquired a filly by El Scorcho, I would 100% without a doubt breed to him. This is the best minded smartest filly I have ever had the pleasure of being around, much less owning. He's an own son of Streakin Six out of a daughter of Tinys Gay. Hard to beat that and I have a feeling here in about a year or so the deman for babies by him is going to be high! I've had some neat youngsters that have come through my barn but this girl takes the cake and leaves me speechless daily! Plus that Flit to Kill breeding ought to be a neat cross for a barrel horse! |

I was meaning one of his sons! 35k is definitely out of my range. I like Ivory James but again a bit high for me. Best Advice is my pick of his sons in my range. He is on stallionesearch, and Facebook. |

I'd go with older, racing blood myself. The Corona Cartels are really nice and throw speed, but some of them are on the smaller side (which there's nothing wrong with that, just thought I'd mention it, if you didn't already know). |

I am looking for more height, bigger build and mental stability....
by "late bloomer" I mean her mind, I got her as a 4yo and she was bat sh*t crazy, but now, FINALLY this last year she has really started to mature and chill out where things don't bother her (i.e my kids, power wheels, golf cart, shot gun blasts, etc..)

yes, I want a bloodline that matures at 3-4yr old not at 8-10yr....
I realize every bloodline has its pros and cons, just like I have heard that the DTF's can be very on edge and need to be taken super slow and easy or they will blow, is that the general thought, probably not....
so just looking for a good line to cross with...
my mare is sweet and loving, very nosy and wants to please, is not marish at all, never even know when she cycles...
once again all input is appreciated.....
anybody know of any sons of IRON BIRD standing at stud???????? |

I have heard that Spit Curl Jess is makin some very nice barrel horses.....
If I was you I wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel. I would go with tried and true barrel lines. Game Patriots and Jet Black Patriots have awful feet and to be honest aren't good barrel lines. Oh and the Kess Perry ugh no. Go Darkelly, Eddie Stinson, Royal and Famous, KN Famous Czar, Streak a Fling.....something that is a barrel horse or carries those lines! Jolene set an Arena record on KN Famous Czar up north his breeding fee is $1,500 next year. Royal and Famous I run.....he is a DTF out of the mare that produced the horse that won the American Qualifier at Mesquite! Oh and he is consistently in the top 10 at huge shows like the Jud Little and Pro Rodeos. Just my opinion. I like lines I can ride the papers.....trust me I ride a lot of different horses. |

I haven't had the fortune of riding lots of horses in lifetime, so I don't know the pros and cons of certain bloodlines...
I ran an own daughter of Iron Bird and had a gelding that was out of Sea Nymph, both were super easy to ride/train.... |
