Waking up to this unsettling news. Prayers for this individual, all of the individuals who came in contact with the two people with Ebola once symptoms were present, and for our country. It only takes a spark to get the fire going.

Our only hope there is that can't fly out if they have a temperature and it's a long slow trip across land to the border from Central America and that is after they take time to make arrangements to be taken north.. Once they start coming down sick they won't be able to travel across land. This is a very debilitating sickness. Also remember that just because they come from a hot zone does not mean they are sick or that they carry it.

^^^......It "could" come in from ANY country IF an infected person arrives from there.........but to blame Mexico on this outbreak is just plain ridiculous!!!

Well, it's going to be really ugly if it shows up and starts slaughtering in Central America. Our open border is going to be inundated with people trying to get away from it and believing that the US has an answer for them if they catch it. Our current administration would love that to happen, and probably wouldn't do jack to close the border down with the necessary force.

This is really really bad. I'm going out to ride my horses. I'm trying not to be melodramatic, but this IS really really bad.

I'll tell you what bothers me the most today. Here we have a TRAINED health care worker that KNOWS how to be careful working with Ebola coming down with it and over three hundred trained workers and doctors already dead from it in Africa, and we are sending thousands of troops that don't have a clue what they are doing into these hot zones. This is a total disaster in the making.

The first article below states approximately 150 people arrive in the U.S. daily from ebola infected areas of West Africa.  I wonder how many enter other countries (maybe our neighboring countries) and then later tavel to U.S. for whatever reason or come in contact with others who travel to the U.S.? Maybe those others don't arrive in the 5 airports considered our airports to be concerned.

The next article has ebola facts and how many are being treated for it outside of West Africa.  I am not sure how recent the info was updated. It includes maps and comparisons to previous outbreaks.

I worry about the military as well.  I certainly hope they are being properly trained to deal with this.  With the number of medical professionals contracting ebola it shows that proper training in the safety procedures is still no guarantee they won't end up with it.

EXACTLY.........We have NO business sending our 3000 troups in there to build hospitals, etc, etc,.........Because they have NO choice since they will be ORDERED to go there.  If they want to "volunteer" ......so be it.....

I watched a news "snippet" the other day (can't remember who or what) but the man was stating that this disease WILL BE our next "Aids" and that we need to get ahead of it NOW! They "poo-poo'd" the severity of HIV too and look at how it spread.

When the troops come home, will they be quarantined for 21 days or just sent home to thier families?  Last I heard it was closer to 4000, that is a lot of people exposed if they just get to go home. We all know that a soldiers paycheck won't cover 21 days in a hotel if they want to self quarantine to protect thier loved ones.

The only thing these two have or could have in common is they come from the same continent. You can have HIV for a long time and not know it. Ebola kills too fast to spread like HIV does. These 3 countries need to be quarantined NOW because if it gets loose the world is screwed.
