I've been fired up looking for a future barrel prospect. But with all that's happening in the world i.e Ebola, ISIS and our incompetent leader. I almost feel selfish and wonder if I should put our financial funds elsewhere. I've looked into the bulk dry foods, Hubby can't seem to buy enough firearms, but water would be a huge issue for us as well. My Husband and I have discussed our plans if things go "really" bad for our country. He of course says the only thing we can use the horses for at that point is transportation if need be.... I know life should be kept as "normal" for our Daughters and our family, but I doubt we'll be flying airlines for a LONG time... What's everyone's thought? Have you developed a plan or discussed this with your family?

We have enough food storage for 6 months to totally take care of my wife, my son, and I.  I think the day will come that we wished we had more.  I guess we could always eat a horse if we had to.

I don't go for extremes.  Tho I know what's happening in the world, I don't let it get to me.  It's tough enough to deal with all the 'normal' things in life.

I am fully planning on flying to Kansas to see my mom at Thanksgiving.  However, there is a place in my brain that knows those plans may change.  But if they do, we're all in a world of hurt, meaning this Ebola thing gets completely out of control and the airlines have shut down.

I'm not going to stop planning for the future. I'm not going to stress myself about issues that I have -0- control over.  I'm going to continue to be thankful for the good things in my life.

The hubb and I have a timeline on this Ebola thing as to when to step up storing anything extra.

I agree this is nothing we have any control of but darn, I think the doomsday preppers may have some validity to it! I agree life as normal but I think I'm going to start buying some food to store. What I've been looking at is food that lasts 20-25 years. I think we're not getting the whole story from the government as usual.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that is thinking about "prepping" just a little.

We put everything big on hold. I was really wanting a new horse trailer, and my husband has been looking for a new house/acreage, all that's happening now is window shopping. You couldn't beat us onto an airplane, at least until we're fully vaccinated with a proven immunization. We're driving across the country to spend Christmas with the daughter, rather than fly her to us as usual. Canceled my trip home, also across country. My Dad may come see me, but he's driving it. Little stuff, vet visits, all that jazz, are still fluid, at least for now. Waiting and watching. Making emergency plans, agreeing on drop offs, meeting places, bought life insurance yesterday. Waiting and watching, and moving on with daily life, paying bills, riding horses, and loving each other dearly.
