Location: Red Raiderland | National Geographic channel? I started to DVR this show and it is interesting to say the least. This guy has some primitive ways about veterinary medicine but I still enjoy watching him and the other vet shows(the other one is in the Yukon, can't remember her name but the animals she deals with are all kinds of awesome-Musk Oxen-yay!) on NGC. Does anyone else watch? Whatcha think? I know I would quit working or really leaving the house if I lived in Michigan!!! Brrr!!!!

Location: Eastern OH but my heart is in WV | My mom got me hooked on Dr Pol!!! I even upped our channels, just to get NetGo Wild but when we had to cut corners I had to drop down a package again. So, now I just go to my mom and watch it On Demand. I enjoy the whole crew :)

Location: Red Raiderland | Oh dang it! You still get to watch at your mom's though. I like the whole crew, too but I don't think I'd let Dr. Brenda work on any of my animals. Did you see where she had that cow in the chutes and it died by cutting off it's breath? I know she felt bad but I just don't get the feeling she is a "great" vet. I think they work on a lot of Amish animals. Dr. Pol has the "OLD" farmer mentality like my dad...the cheapest way is the best way.

Location: Illinois | Dr. Pol was actually my vet for many years when I used to live in Michigan. He works exactly as his show depicts and he is amazing. He saved my horse when he got an amoeba from drinking stagnant water and almost died. He tried to save my dog from a blood infection but she was to far gone and he didn't even charge us for anything because we had to put her down. I wish I still lived there because I have never found another vet that I loved as much as him! |

I love Dr. Pol! But I kind of agree about Dr. Brenda. I saw that episode and it was really sad :( Maybe it's just her personality, but she seems to not enjoy her job that much.

I like it!!! - he seems like a good, caring man - practical with a lot of experience - I only saw part of one episode, but the solutions for the animals seemed simple - one horse was lame and it was thrush. The other was colic that was occurring in several animals on the farm at different times...it was a simple solution, too, but I can't remember for sure. It seems like a different world than living here in Texas - hot and dry most times. But when it does get to freezing multiple days, I have learned that the horses really enjoy warmer water and I'll bet you have to really be conscious of that up North. |

Tank heaters are pretty much a staple here, otherwise youll have ice. |

Location: South | I watched the first 3 seasons I believ on Netflix and was hooked. Wishing the other Vet show was on there. I do wish it had more variety as it was mostly pregancy checks for cows over and over. Shockingly old school and super interesting to watch. I too wasn't too fond of Dr. Brenda either |

This has been brought up on a lot of forums where other vets post. He was actually cited by the Michigan Vet state board about treating a whelping dog that had dead puppies in her and he did not DX them correctly. Either way, he and his staff are interesting to watch. I don't know much about cows but those are my favorite scenes. I hate when they work on horse stuff because usually the client has let something get way too out of control before they take them in or have the vets called out. This weekend they had a horse that was cast in his stall and colicing and no one knew what to do while the poor thing thrashed around. I was screaming at the TV, "Get him upright and on his feet!" |

How cool is that! I figured he was a "what you see is what you get" kind of man. I just hope they don't start adding scripted stuff like the chili cookoff. We want to see the animals and the vets and staff working with them, not outside events. Charles does crack me up, though. |

He was also cited for not doing continuing education.
I enjoy watching it and would use him if I had cows but not for my horses or dogs..LOL |
