| In your experience/OP what does this entail?
Hypothetical: person A & person B want to purchase a horse. Person A does not have the time or knowledge to care for or train the horse to make it worth buying. Person B does. Person B does not want to put up half the purchase price AND all of the up keep and training time and money. Person A does not want to pay full purchase price if it is considered going in "halves" on the horse. |

| Sounds like trouble... any time you try to do halves it gets too messy... Only time it has worked for me is Person A wanted Person B to ride horse so Person A could brag "That's my Horse!" |

Location: N Texas | I think it's a terrible idea and will get messy in a hurry. There will be times where one person wants to do a specific treatment, or feed program, or supplement, etc and the other person doesn't want to. Will all expenses be split right down the middle? What is person A trying to gain from this?

| Seen it done many times and the person (in situation B) tells me they always get the short end of the stick really. They fed and rode the horse while person A just sat back and waited to collect. Thus person (A) got a bigger return because he didnt have riding time and feed invested even though the profit was split 50/50. Unless this is going to be a short term deal with potential buyers already in mind I wouldnt do it. |
