horse #1: - APHA
-yearling, halter broke, farrier broke, partially handled and moderately safe
- papers: top side Carona Cartel, Streakin Six. Bottom side Skip A Shay, Skips Little Dude
-15hh tall currently
- $XXXX

horse #2: - AQHA
- 2yo, halter broke, has had someone on it, not "safe," probably not farrier or tie broke (needs lots of basics)
- papers: top side Streakin Six, Bottoms Up, Victory Dash, Windy City Woman (Windy Ryon). Bottom side: Royal Shake Em (FDD, Streakin Six), Game Plan (Easy Jet).
- 15hh tall currently
- $XXXX+$1000

*** papers info are all within 3 generations of the horses***

Horse #1 is closer to me and has had a lot more time, effort and care. Horse #2 has been ridden at least once. Both have "good" conformation. Horse #1 will be much bigger than horse #2.

Do paints sell well in your area? I would take that into consideration just in case I ended up not liking horse #1. If you purchased horse number 2, you would have a lot more work to do but would be able to ride/start much sooner because it is already a 2 yr old.

In the end go with your gut, you are the one who needs to be happy with your purchase at the end of the day :

depends on how fast you want to start riding/showing them...   I like the sound of horse #1, but it will be a year behind the other.  So depends on if you are in a hurry or not.

I would skip on both and keep looking.

I would like to see a copy of both papers before I make a decision as I generally only look at first 2 generations

why would they asking that much for #2 if it is not safe? I'd definitely pass on both
