| Who here has used a nebulizer on their horse that has inflammatory air way disease, resp. Infection or copd? Did you use rx meds or otc vapor solutions? Do you use it regularly for maintainence? And if so what is your regimen. Thanks!

Location: Texas | I'm on a pre order list for a nebulizer that I saw at Glen Rose. I believe in that stuff for sure. I know the units can be expensive but this one is fairly affordable. She has has own OTC solution but said the nebulizer will work on anything, so I plan on doing both. I don't know about regimens yet. I know with her solution she said to do a 30 min treatment within 2 hours of running. |

| I am curious to! I just purchased a aeromask from someone who never even used it and a human nebulizer unit to hook up to it. I haven't gotten it in the mail yet. |

that would be great! Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much does the nebulizer unit with a horse mask cost from her? The flexineb unit is about a 1000 dollars. |

| We have the Fleixneb and let me tell you if you have lots to nebulize this is the way to go! It runs off a battery and you don't need extension cords like some of the other options. |

| I have had severe respiratory problems with 2 of my horses, they have been scope multiple times and tried multiple meds. From the research I have done inhaled steroids are much more effective and safer for the horses system. I have taken to several different vets but no one seems to understand the inhaled steroids. What meds have you used in nebulizer and which vets have you used. Sorry so long just looking for answers. |

Location: Lost in the swamps | I am interested to learn more about the IAD since my horse is just diagnosed with a very mild case. I have made environmental changes,no stalling, wetting down everything. Not going to dusty pens, waiting I the results of the bal wash. To determine treatment. And have him on dex which is helping but I hate!!! What other things have you done to help your horses with IAD? Clembuterol before a run?nevulizers treatments? I have read a lot! Just don't have much experience in the respirtory dept! |

| A while ago, I had a decent (placed at WPRA rodeos) barrel horse with airway problems. I gave him human Albuterol about 20 minutes before we ran. I made my own Inhaler by cutting off the large end of a 5 gallon water jug. We would put his nose inside the large opening of the water jug and squirt the Albuterol in the small opening. It seemed to really help him and it did not cost a small fortune. |

Location: OK panhandle | You all should check out www.silverhorsecare.com it's way more affordable nebulizer and works awesome, I have one and love it. I use it on my mare that bleeds, I got it when she bled and got an infection from it and was able to mix antibiotic and silver for treatment, cleared it right up, breathing great now. I now use it couple times a week as maintenance and you can nebulize with just the silver prior to running. My parents are using the same unit on their racehorses at Los Alamitos. Collidial Silver works amazing for breathing, can't say enough good things about it and Becky w/Silver Horse Care has done her research and answered many questions for me, walked me through everything. I'm firm believer in the nebulizing but I couldn't afford the nebulizers advertised at almost $1000, this one works just as good, not near the price. |

| I use the Flexib and it works amazing. My horse has allergies, respiratory issues, you name it he has it. I have been using it for a month and my vet can't believe what a difference it is making. I use it twice a day. In the morning I do 10cc of a mixture of saline and eucalyptus oil and at night or an hour out from a run 10cc of just saline. The ratio for the mixture is 250 ml of saline and 1 1/4 cc of eucalyptus oil. I put it in a water bottle or something like that and then just shake it up and draw out 10cc when I need it. It has been the best thing I have found. He is a true 1 d horse. |

Location: Aubrey, Texas | Hi, everyone! i haven't been on BHW in forever, but I've been lurking lately and saw this post and thought, "Holy Serendipity!" Tonda Collins, the lady who was at Glen Rose this past weekend, is a friend of mine. I bought my current barrel horse, Smoke, from her and she was just down here today to get him started on breathing treatments! I've been waiting for her to get her product on the market and now she's done it. Her website will be up this weekend: www.equi-resp.com. You can reach her at her email: [email protected]; she also sells the flexineb that someone mentioned. |

I get the saline from my vet and I went to a health store and bought the best eucalyptus that they have. You can also get it at the drug store but I decided to get the most purest. |

Yep we use our Equi-Resp religiously... we have fluticasone from the vet that is actually in the human nose spray bottle.. we spray it in the hole the tube fits in on the mask. Then after that we do a 25 min treatment with her silver solution. Hoping it really helps this mare, we will run her in January for the first time since Glen Rose. |
