Location: Somewhere around here | I haven't posted on here in a little while but surprise, I'm pregnant! Me and my husband haven t told many people yet because we are scared of a few things but I have had morning sickness for the past 4 weeks straight, and it is slowly killing me lol. I've tried eating crackers slowly in the morning (doesn't help), tried drinking ginger ale (doesn't help), tried moving very slowly in the mornings (doesn't help), tried just about everything I can think of and a few ideas I have found on baby/preggo sites. My morning sickness has even hindered me a few times from going to work in the morning. Thankfully I work part-time but still.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions on when they (or their wife) had morning sickness?? |

Location: naz, tx | I feel your pain.... I didn't realize what morning sickness really was until now that I'm going through it. I'm about 14 weeks now and it's starting to get better. I get the sick feeling more in the evenings now than morning.... Everyone will tell you to eat crackers. I tried for a few days, now I can't even think about crackers. yuk! I really don't have any good advice, besides just keep trying different things. I ate soup for a while, then cereal, sonic hamburgers w just mustard & pickles. Gatorade was good for a while. I just tried to sleep as much as I could! Most food still sounds gross to me. The one thing I do like is fried rice and veggies at the Japanese steak houses.... And I'm starting to eat apples and grapes again. They leave my mouth feeling clean (if that makes sense?) I just have dry mouth a lot?
Sorry to ramble, but hope something there helps? How far along are you? |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | I always have it really bad. Sadly, I've miscarried five times for varied reasons... But this last baby made it the longest at 3 months so I really got to experience morning sickness. I was passing out from not eating, I lost 15 pounds because I couldn't keep hardly anything down, (Not even the fluids they gave me to keep me hydrated at the hospital.) BUT! I'll pass along what my friend and doc told me: "Find something you can keep down, And eat the crap out of it because you're baby still needs nourishment. I don't care if it's onions, I don't care if it's celery and water. Heck, I don't care if it's beans and rice! Find what you can eat, and stuff your face because morning sickness doesn't last forever."
For naseua I sat in front of a fan with my feet up and it seemed to help a little (at work) and I drank lots of water because you're going to throw up... But at least it'll mainly be water. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I had a much worse case of it with my second pregnancy...don't know why they call it morning sickness because I was naseous all freakin day. I figured out food was more likely to stay down for the day if I ate a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. And don't drink anything first thing. I would still feel bad, but actual puking was less likely. Everyone is different--start with whatever sounds good to you. Doesn't matter if others think it's gross or weird. It's really common to lose some weight from morning sickness, but if you get dehydrated, you need to call your doc. |

Location: Where ever there's sunshine! | I am 35 weeks. At 8 weeks I was feeling terrible by week 9 I was unable to keep anything down and could not pee. Get to your doctor and start working on different vitamins. Do not accept that much sickness and think it's "normal" if you are unable to go about your day and/or losing weight you are in trouble. I wound up on a vitamin called Prenate Minis. As long as I take it every night, I'm good to go. Pregnancy will make you mentally and physically tired and a little nauseous, but anything as bad as Yall are talking about is not ok. Please go see your doc immediately. Oh, and eat lots of protein...cottage cheese, cheese sticks, dark greens, red meats... |

Location: In Husker Land | When I was pregnant with my daughter I had it the whole 9 months..gained 14 pounds with a 7 pound 3 oz kid. I agree..find something you can eat and eat that. Also go see your doc..they can give something to you for nausea. I lived on phergran and Zofran that pregnancy. One reason I have only had one kid..when you vomit everyday for nine months, puke till you blow blood vessels in your eyes, etc..you want something to help..but it is worth it in the end :)

I have eaten cookies and cream ice cream for breakfast most days, but that is all that sounds good and doesn't make me feel nasty. I am at 8 weeks and thankfully have not thrown up, but I feel nauseous, tired and bloated all day long. I get worse as the day goes on. This is my second and I was never sick with my first, so this has been all new to me. I am learning to eat very small and pretty much eat all day long, rather than 3-4 separate meals. I feel for you guys that throw up, but some days I think I would feel better if I just did it rather than feel like I needed to all day. |

My friend bought these because she was having "morning" sickness, all day everyday. They need to be firm on your pressure point for it to be effective but it really worked for her.

Location: In The Snow, AZ | I was extremely sick thru my entire pregnancy. I could literally feel my stomach turn and knew it was coming back up. I couldn't eat anything and keep it down for more then 5 minutes. Couldn't drink water, couldn't keep prenatals down. No sorts of food would stay in. I threw up constantly. I was in the hospital twice. The second time they stuck me 8 times in my arms and hands, trying to find a vein. Ended up having to get an ultrasound machine to find my vein because I was so dehydrated.
After much trial and error, my doctor prescribed me Zofran. It is a drug typically prescribed for the nausea and vomiting that occurs after undergoing Chemothereapy. And it worked like a dream. I would highly recommend asking your doctor about it. |

| Talk to your doctor about it. I could not function and could not keep anything down. The pills my doctor gave me allowed me to least function. Still had to force myself to eat and still got sick but it was better.

Location: Beggs, OK | Zofran was my friend near the end of my pregnancy when I was in the hospital with the twins. I couldn't eat much at one time, or after about 7:00 at night or I would be horribly sick.
It was strange to be sick at the end since I had no morning sickness whatsoever in the beginning...especially with twins. |

Location: MS | When I was pregnant I had to eat lots of small meals. Like cut my lunch/supper into 3 portions. I found if I always had a little something in my stomach I was less likely to get sick. If I ate too much I would also get sick. I would even get up in the middle of the night to eat a few times. In the end the morning sickness went away but was replaced by heartburn! I think if it's to the point you can't function, I would definitely get my doctor to prescribe something. |

Location: Whitney, NE | 1/2 of a unisom sleep tab (active ingredient doxy-something) and 1 vitamin b6 pill 3X per day. This was recommended to me by my doc when I was pregnant with my son and it helped a ton after a couple of days:) |

Location: Bennett, CO | Ive had some luck with Unisom.... I take one at night and my mornings are more managable... It was originally an anti drug that has side effects of sleepy........
I also eat tums 2-4 times per day... and also take Ranitadine (heartburn OTC) and that seems to be working well
I lost quite a bit of weight initially.. Im at 17 weeks now and doing much better!
I eat a late breakfast, a BIG lunch and small dinner with a few snacks... Im addicted to the applesaucce you suck out of the packages.. it sits well....
And a big thing for me is to avoid sugar as much as possible |

| I never had it really bad but if I didn't drink a glass of milk first thing in the morning I would be sick. I wasn't much of a milk drinker before either so was kind of weird. Hope you find something that helps. |
