I'm really thinking about buying a broodmare to breed to a DRM stud. Mostly because I've decided I love this line and finding one on the ground is pretty hard. I'm wondering from people who have owned them what you think the best cross would be. My gelding is Dinkys Red Man x Sticks An Stones bred, looking at something a little more likely though. He has a sister that's DRM x Frenchmans Guy (same mare). I'm just thinking it out honestly.

What stud are you looking at? I didn't know there were any sons of his still alive......

I've heard there's a son somewhere here in GA...haven't ever seen him though. I can put you in touch with a friend who can find the owners if interested ;-)

There's a grandson in CA I believe.

He's about halfway down the page, Exclusive Red Man. If you click on his pic it takes you to his website, and clicking on his name shows allbreed. Current bid is $100 plus shipping fees. Hard to beat.

All I'm finding are grandsons now. Red Manstrick passed this year. Exclusive Red Man will be at the top of my list, but they are all older.

If you make up your mind before 11/22 you can bid on him in that auction and get the booking/stud fee for $125. Plus shipping when that time comes. Pretty darn hard to beat!

There are a few in TN. I can put you in touch with someone that has them either 1)on the ground, or 2) knows somebody that does. PM me and I'll point you in the right direction. I know there is a buckskin grandson with DRM on the top and Tiny Guy on the bottom that one of our BBs was standing. There's a double bred DRM stud too, but I don't know much about him. I own an own son and a grandson, both geldings. The own son will be 30 next year, I wish I had 10 more like him...

Forgot to add, the most proven cross to DRM are through Howie Bar mares.

Maybe the people standing him have a mare you could lease for the season? Goodness, at that price (about a $900 discount) buying a broodmare would just about pay for itself. He's DRM/Howie Bars.
I know of at least one really nice broodmare in his general area for sale at a ridiculously cheap price (if she hasn't sold already). She has a foal due in the spring and you could use the auction breeding on her in her foal heat. ??

I would jump in and bid, you don't have to have a mare ready until June 2015 at the latest. That's plenty of time to find one, and after you consider the savings on the fee you'll have more $$ left to buy or lease a really nice mare.

I have a daughter out of red manstrick.. I never knew he passed away this year; the owners got ahold of me at the beginning of the year asking if I was still running her.

This is a picture of my Exclusive Red Man gelding. He was a Money Earner at the Greg Olsen futurity and made it to the New Mexico Rodeo Association finals. Exclusive Red Man stands in California.

I own Exclusive Red Man. He is a son of RedManstrick who passed away a few months ago and he is a Howie Bars cross. There are very few of DRM grandsons standing and none at all west of Texas (that I know of) except ERM.

His stud fee is normally $1000 so the c-n stallion auction is a great place to get a breeding to him at a steep discount. Collection and shipping is $350 through Ward River Ranch in Kingsburg, CA.

We have bred to our own mares and sold offspring, breeding him outside by word of mouth or the c-n stallion auction. There are approx 20 foals by ERM and of those foals, all that barrel race are money earners.
