| I have looked into getting a pozzi, cactus cj(because of their bar flare), or crown c. I have tried on a friend's LM nueva and special and they hit him in the wrong spot. His shoulder blades stick out making him hard to fit! Not to mention..super high withers...any suggestions? Not many saddle fitters in my area at all:( will try to get some pics on here

| I have a high withered boy but hes narrow- very hard to fit - went through tons of saddles and finally found a kay young masters saddle - fits him perfect- I also have another one that's very stocky with high withers looks like yours and a Caldwell rocket tree fits good - but the best fit for him is a deb sibley flex- I didn't think I would like the flex but I love it |

| I actually forgot to mention, I tried a Kay young masters too but it sat down on his withers like a lot of them did. Unfortunately I cannot afford a Caldwell, but they sure seem like nice ones!! I will look into the deb sibleys:)

| Talk to meleeta brown. She has demo saddles you can try. Her saddles are very reasonable. They are called freedom barrel saddles. She will help wether her saddles will work for you or not. |

| Your horse is built a lot like mine but my guy doesn't have as high of a wither. I have a Crown C on him and it's awesome. You could get a Crown C with more wither clearance and most likely be good to go. Call Martin and have them demo you one - doesn't cost anything. |

| I would call Charon at Caldwell. I have had good luck fitting those hard to fit. Or call WR at Diamond Cross Saddles. He seems to be able to help out with those horses too. He will let you send back saddles that don't fit. |

Location: CO | From my experience with a Sibley, I wouldn't recommend one for a high withered horse. My horse has a pretty normal sized wither and the Sibley sat right on her withers. The Sibley has a really low profile. |

| Thanks everyone for your responses- another thing is bar flare and rock. I think he will need a lot of flare but I'm not sure about rock...the meleta brown saddles seem like a good choice to me but I really need a 13.5" seat. Her smallest is 14:(

Did you have to start out by shimming your crown C? I really like those saddles a lot but not a fan of shimming. |

Location: South of Canada and North of Mexico | Β Shiloh hands down for a horse with withers, preferably a Jerri Mann tree as it has a nice bar flare, widest out of the Shilohs I have tried (Ed Wright, Contender, JP Contender, Cecil Phillips). |

| Deb Sibley ultra flex, great for high withers and seems to fit a wide range of horses.

| Cactus has several different gullet sizes. Even in the old CJ you can get a 6.5 gullet if you need to. |

Location: Oregon | Try the Meleta Brown Freedom saddle by Crates! I had my girl sized an that one fits her great. She is also a hard fitter.....big shoulders, high withers but wide too. It also has flare and fits her well. They also have the impact gel barrel pad fitted for that specific saddle.
Hope that helps :) |

I don't mean to start an argument but the Sibley's have never sat down on a horses wither for me?
My gelding has a shark fin and he has plenty of clearance.
To the OP - I would try Sibley. Fits a wide variety of horses. |

My daughter has a Cactus Brandi Halls. Absolutely beautiful and well built. Its FQHB but the bars are quite straight and it doesn't fit any of our horses. She got the saddle for a running bred mare she had and the saddle fit like a glove. They will fit a higher wither horse. She should sell her saddle but she loves it so much she's hoping to have a horse in the near future that it'll fit. |

I never had the Sibleys sit down on the withers either.... The horses that I liked mine best on both had a very substantial set of withers, kinda thoroughbred built. Perhaps you've got the wide one on a narrower horse so it's sitting down a bit far? |
