Actually, I was thinking of doing it myself, lol. I have had a few ladies ask about doing something and I was thinking a group thing would be fun. We could donate the proceeds to a charity (wounded warriors is one of my favorites) and maybe we could get the arena donated. Then folks could just pay for the stall and RV hookup.

| That sounds like fun! When we put on clinics we would offer the concession stand for the 4H. They are always looking to make money for charities too. |

War on men!!!! LOL
Sorry Hotbear! Though we do love our men, sometimes it is just nice to be able to talk about "woman stuff" without having to worry about who is listening in, lol.
Plus, as we age, I think we deal with different things than we did when we were younger. Our goals, our outlook on life, our bodies, our health, the way we feel about our horses, it all changes a little bit. It is really nice to be able to sit in a group of our peers and discuss where we are at in our lives. Whether we think so or not, those things effect our ability in the arena as well.
Confidence is a HUGE issue as you get older. Some people are deciding that after all these years of doing for their kids and their family, that they are finally going to do something that they have always wanted to do for themselves - barrel race! How fun would it be to be with a group of ladies that are in the same place? Everyone gets an opportunity to learn new things and get better while developing friendships that can last a lifetime!
Sounds like fun to me, lol.

If there are enough people interested I'll try to get the arena in Hallettsville. It's indoor so we could do it in the winter. I was thinking arrive Friday, January 9th by 5pm and head home on Sunday at noon. 10 ladies, bring up to 2 horses, $100.00 for the clinic (to be donated to wounded warrior fund) and then pay for stall and rv.

Okay... If you are really interested in coming just send me a PM with your contact info and I will put you on my list! I'm going to call Hallettesville arena tomorrow and see if they will donate it for the clinic. I really want to keep this down to 10 ladies, it is so much better when you have a small group. It's way more personal and it makes it easier to spend time addressing individual problems rather than the cookie cutter style.
You can send me a video and a note that explains what (you feel) is your strongest point and your weakest point when it comes to you and your horse, what your goals are, and what you want to accomplish by coming to the clinic. That puts us one step ahead when we get together. We can review them all on Friday night and get started first thing Saturday morning with the horses. It'll be the most fun you have ever had at a clinic, and no one there will make you cry! Unless they're happy tears, lol.

Location: Bandera, TX | I would love to attend a clinic such as this. I was able to ride in a clinic years ago with Mary Bromley. She told us as we age patterns of defects begin to appear in our posture that really inhibit our riding. I would love to address just that me and my terrible posture! |
