| I'm 5 miles from there - it's been open for quite some time - they've had bull ridings and steer ropings in there. I just have to wonder where everyone would stay if they had a big race - I don't know if they have stall barns and I don't think they have hook ups. |

Didn't they just host the Finals for Steer Roping there?? I thought I heard some scuttle about that on RFD- radio on sirius ... Anywho, I'm about 2 hours from there and I'd hit it up in a heartbeat! |

Location: Kansas | One of the problems with having a barrel race is it costs $15,000 to transfer the dirt in and out to the concrete arena floor. Therefore a barrel race would have to be close to another event to make it worthwhile. The managers are always open to suggestions.
You're three and half hours away. I'm three and half minutes away. Since I love to gamble, that ain't always a good thing.

| Do you know any contacts in charge of scheduling? I was trying to help someone get some information on hosting a large calf roping, but wasn't having much luck getting in touch with anyone. |

| we were there first of November for the nfsr and it is a good arena but there was no good place to tie the horses inside and when they did if one pulled back the panels came crashing down. The barns were not complete so the put up temp barns in the parking lot. The steers had to be trailer-ed the very short distance since the pens were not complete. There were no hookups for trailers and no warm up pen so the only time we could warm horses up was before and there was no place to walk them on dirt to keep them loosened up. Most of the staff was very accommodating and some were kinda rude about who can go where. All in all I think when the grounds are finished it will be very nice and I would love to go for a barrel race but right now I know that barrel racers would not be happy having an event up there. |

| Yes, this is the arena at Mulvane. It is a nice arena but they haven't gotten everything up and running yet. We have been to two overnight ropings there this past summer. For both of those ropings they had a dirt area outside the arena for people to warm up in but I heard that they didn't have it for the steer roping finals. When the new barn opens up it will be nice but it isn't going to be none to long to team rope in. I haven't heard any talk of them putting in any hook ups, it sure would be nice if they did. This is going to be a really nice place when it is done but it is going to take some time. |

Location: The Great Midwest | Well I like it because it looks pretty LOL
I hope they can add in hook ups, I know one thing I wouldn't be able to afford a room at the Hampton!
Hope it turns into an awesome place |

Location: Displaced Iowegian | Someone asked Renea (Barrel Bash) about the arena and she said that she has been talking to them for over two years. The rent is $2500/day and the stalls cost HER $75 and it includes no equipment (tractors, etc). Also, she not sure of the ground at this point in time. |
