| I was disappointed to see this also... very responsible of his owners though and I am sure a very difficult decision. |

 Don't Wanna Make This Awkward

Location: Texas | Skye is a phenominal horse and should never be seen as a "backup". Michele didn't have the best finals last year and I'm sure she was looking forward to redeeming SBD this year at the T&M, but I think she will give everyone a run for their money in each round and the average. Skye is super consistent and not a barrel hitter. |

We are saddened to announce to all of Slick By Design's fans that he will not be competing at the 2014 National Finals Rodeo.
As everyone is aware, Slick came down with a terrible virus during this year's Calgary Stampede. Under strict care from some of the best veterinarians in the country, he was given time off and treated. Slick has gone back to full work and ran this past weekend. Michele and the veterinarians feel he is close but not quite ready to handle the grueling demands of the NFR. We are going to take the next 2 months to continue his conditioning schedule and have him ready to start off the new 2015 rodeo season.
This year it will be Kellies Chick's turn to run down the ally at the Thomas & Mack. The "Skye" is the limit!! |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | Darn it! I was really thinking this would be his year to shine. The mare is freakin incredible, I'm sure she'll be awesome out there. Naughty is something else, he might be 4, but he's wicked...it's got to be tempting to take him along to! Best of luck to Michelle! |

Location: Texas | As disappointed as I am to not get to see him, I think it was a VERY smart decision. He needs to be 100% and then some to run 10 days in a row, or shoot even for half of the go round at the NFR. Especially because he is a stallion. The barrel world is very fickle and I think it's very smart of them to leave him at home if he isn't READY. |

Yes, they bought "Disco" from my friend Monica McClung earlier this year, and that mare is absolutely wicked, especially on a small pattern. I'd love to see her run Disco at least once! |

It's a difficult trip from Texas and the stall situations are not the best for a horse that needs "clean living". |
