Location: Kansas | Our national debt has increased 70% under Barack Obama. Interest paid is astronomical.
His new immigration amnesty fiasco will cost the U.S. $2 trillion a year.
Merry Christmas to the USA. Two more years....

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | My econ professor told us back around 1993ish that the national debt would not be a problem until we couldn't pay the interest. Uhhhhh, how close are we getting to that? |

| I am not from the US but here is my question
Do you actually think any country will require USA to pay back the debit?

The United States forgives debts to other countries unfortunately for taxpayers. I can't see the countries we owe money forgiving us anything since most of them would love to see the U.S. fail economically.

Working people that actually make enough to pay taxes, will become enslaved to work to take care of people that have no skills and/or don't want to work. Glad I'm old. |

No one will really require their money back, China included, because if that happens, then they will have no place for their goods to be exported to and all there gajillions of people would be out of work.
Granted, this is not an excuse for this ridiculous amount of spending done by our good ol president... |

Oh yes.. China will.... People wonder why I quit my job and became homeless a few years ago.... I worked my butt off for 35 years and paid taxes all that time... only to wake up one morning to see what it had gotten me... 50 million people on foodstamps and a 16 trillion dollar national debt. To make matters worse. The Hogs in Washington DC were floating loans with communist China so they would have more $$$ to pi$$ away.. (can you imagine how people would have reacted in the 80s if we had started floating loans with communist Russia to help the Hogs spend more $$?).. I decided enough was enough.. I was done slopping the Hogs... Now we have an 18 trillion dollar debt.. Well, I got news for everyone. I didn't help run that debt up and I'm not going to help pay it off... When the Hogs fix this mess they have created... Then and only Then will I return to work and pay taxes again. |

Location: Kansas | Me too but I have to keep working (should have been retired several years ago) to maintain a decent lifestyle. At the small business I work for we just lost our Xmas bonuses and will probably take a 10% pay cut the first of the year. The Federal Govt is doing a number on small businesses. UPS is raising their rates by 5%. That's helpful also to a business that ships "a lot" of product. |

I understand... Really I do. People like you can't do what I did because other people depend on you. I get people all the time that ask why I don't apply for government relief, food stamps or housing and I explain to them what I explained here... and they don't understand.. But I have it coming (they say) The government owes it to me (they say) Everybody does it (they say) That's what the government is there for (they say) Sometimes I get so frustrated I want to tear my hair out!! I'm surrounded by idiots!! |

You do indeed have a rare mindset. Most people crave entitlements and see them as something they deserve even though, i.e. immigrants, they've never paid anything into the system.
