| What are some good supplements to help build up their blood? Right now I am giving him red cell but his blood tests are still coming back as being low. What other supplements are there that will be stronger than the red cell? |

| I would look into whats causing it first. Anemia in horses is brought on by something, they usually aren't just anemic without an underlying issue. Ulcers are a big reason, parasites, kidney infections, sickness. You might try starting him on a probiotic also to increase the B12 in his hind gut, which will help increase red blood cells. |

| If other minerals are out of balance, that will also affect how they absorb certain minerals. Similar to how you have to balance the Cal/Phos ratio.
Copper & Zinc interact with Iron. |

I have had 2 become anemic
1 was a bleeder, the other had worms
Corrected each issue and then did blood builder
I used lixotinic, its expensive but works
My hauling partner uses EQ Royal (http://eqroyal.com/) her mare is back to herself and clocking a 1/2 second faster since she has been on it |

Location: Somewhere between S@% stirrer and Saint | When you pull the blood on a relaxed horse the RBC count will be lower because the RBC are stored in the spleen. To get a better look at the RBC count pull the blood right after exercising and have it spun. This will give a better look at the RBC count. Some horses tend to keep more RBC in the spleen until they are needed! |
