Location: Northeast SD | i have *heard* they are hot.. Once again this is me only hearing these things.. Probably depends on whose hands they are in if they can keep them from getting hot.. They so far have been making quite the name for themselves in the barrel pen!! FrenchStreakToVegas is one heck of a barrel horse along with his full sister!!! |

They are fast.Β There are two running in the NFR each night for hell sakes.Β They are going to be hot in theΒ future, maybe even the next dtf.Β Β
I have to agree.

| I have 2 geldings...... Hammer (Breezes Only Fling) and Axle (JF Streak in Creek) the sweetest boys ever! Both 1d horses and have more to give, have only owned hammer about a year and a half and Axle about 10 months. They can be pushy and get a little excited at time to run but the most laid back lazy goofy horses I have owned. I wouldn't say HOT at all, not even a little and they get pumped grain and feed and oats. Never thought of them as being hot :) They go in and run and do their things and then go back to lazy boys. If you haven't owned one and have the chance to..... do it!! |

| I have heard they tend to be sensitive/hot horses. I have also heard from several good sources who ride a lot of them that they are either really really nice or really really crappy there is no middle with them. I know a few people with nice ones that love them so I guess it just depends. |

I think you will find that with any.........good bad and the ugly........lol............ With that said.........Sarah McDonald's Bling was what we might consider a late bloomer........she didn't do that well early in her futurity year.........they turned her out for a few months........she won the 1st barrel race and hasn't looked back since.......as for being hot now.......I would consider her one of the calmest horses in the warm up pen.......shes just a cool cat......and she has proven she can win Super Shows on any level as well go straight to the rodeo pen......... |

Location: Somewhere around here | I haven't owned one (not yet at least) but I think you can tell how HOT they get just by watching Worm and Trula Churchhill in the alleyway at the NFR. He seems to be one of the calmest in the alley! |

Not trying to bad mouth them if it seemed that way :) just what I have heard from others. That being said though I would DEFINITELY try one ! lol I don't think my butt could stay on Bling she looks HARD to ride ! I am a sucker for a roan though so I know my luck if I bred a mare to him I would get a solid sorrel LOL |

Location: Okemah,OK | My little girl is only a weanling but I love her! Tinkerbell knows her mother is a full sister to my two open horses Cheese & Roy (Pacific Bailey & Three Ohs bred). She is sweet natured, a little independent (from the first day) but smart and seems to pick up things easily. I didn't get the roan coloring (she's a sorrel) but I am very proud to have her! |

You can blame everything on a stud. Mares contribute as well and asof is bred to some amazing mares. The thing a lot of people tend to forget is running blood is a major influence in this industry. and with running blood you get traits of running blood...... |

You weren't bad mouthing him. What you said is true. There are some really good ones out there and some counterfeit ones, some belong in the rank pen at the NFR. The good and bad have come out of mares bred the same. That's just the way of life. It doesn't scare me away from him. It can happen with any horse. |

That's what I've heard too. I've seen some nasty ones, and the 3 year old I looked at when shopping was a witch, but who knows how much of that was human-caused from mishandling a sensitive horse? The other thing to keep in mind is he has a long back, so I wouldn't breed a long backed mare to him...you might end up with a weenie dog. LOL |

And you can have great mares certain bloodlines cross with certain studs that just produce counterfeit.......lived it...... |
