Location: Texas | I had my dog ( doberman X) take me out running agility and I fell on a rubber ball I had stuffed in my shorts over my tail bone ( no pockets) in June. I could not ride comfortably until sept. (Take lots of painkillers) Tail bone still hurts if I sit to long :(. A bruised/broken tailbone is the worst! Hope you have a speedy recovery! |

| Mine has been broken, took a super long time to heal. Definitely an area you take for granted when you keep hitting on stuff. |

Location: Bandera, TX | 13 years ago I accidentially sat down hard on a flash light in a dark tent, in the middle of Wyoming.... I still have issues from that... :(
If it's not better in a few days go see a chiro. That seemed to have helped me. |

What they heck happened??Β Β Β
What had happened wuz......
Late into riding last Sunday I decided to shake my hat around her ears while standing up in the saddle leaning forward. It all went south from there.... I'm proud to say I didn't hit the ground....but right now I'm thinking the ground may have been a better alternative. :-/
Tried to ride Tuesday and it was a no go. Do they make a donut for saddles??? Lol.....kidding. Sort of. |

Location: TN | I few years ago I was riding around bareback and turned my horse too tight and slipped off (I know it was stupid lol) anyway I landed on my tailbone and broke it. I got back on and rode for about 15 more minutes then when I got off I was in pain and could not sit. After having x-rays done the doc said I just needed to take it easy and sit on a pillow when I needed to sit. I had to carry a pillow pretty much wherever I went for 2 weeks before it felt good enough to sit normally. I took about 4 weeks off from riding and even when I started back it hurt every time I rode for a few weeks. Hopefully your tailbone isn't broken but if it is, take pain meds and take it easy for a little bit. |

Location: Somewhere around here | Hope you heal quickly! I bruised mine quite a few years ago. I was riding an older OTTB, just trotting in the arena, when he spooked at who knows what and started bucking. I was so caught off guard I somehow landed on the horses neck but my tailbone hit the saddle horn a few times until somehow I was able to grab a hold of the arena gate and just climbed off. It hurt pretty bad for about a week but thankfully I didn't do too much damage. |

That sounds terrible! Fortunately I stayed south of the saddle horn. Eeek! |

| Might be worth a visit to the chiropractor for and xray and adjustment, if needed (if you have not already gone to the doc for a definitive broken tailbone diagnosis. I hit my backside on the back of my saddle several times coming out of a barrel on a big, powerful mare and jammed my tailbone. A few adjustments and some ice down the back of my britches helped the ache go away.
Hope you get some relief soon! |
