| I bit the bullet and had a reduction done!! It happened really fast from consultation to approval! Insurance covered it and had to get it done before the end of the year.. I hurt and I'm pretty sure the doc used a jackhammer on my chest but I'm super excited about.
So, please share you healing experiences? How long did you wait before riding or exercising? Excuse the grammar if I screw it b/c I'm on pretty heavy painkillers, lol.
Just had it done Friday (and the chicken things comes from not using my normal name, lol).

Location: NC | I had mine done in 2008. Had surgery on a Wednesday. Went home that afternoon. Had a friend drive me. Felt fine until that evening when the feel good gas wore off. Lol. I was sick as a dog.
Had a follow up on Friday to remove the drainage tubes. I drove my POS manual transmission honda civic by myself the hour to the office and back. Had the tubes removed and everything was fine. Had some pain of course but it wasn't bad for me. I went truck shopping the next week and was riding walk/trot in about 2 weeks. I didn't have a lot of pain as long as I kept the compression bra on. Went back to manual labor work 5 weeks later and I was fine.
The scars never bother me and I've never had complaints about them. Lol. |

| I want to get this done. I hope your healing goes well. My aunt had it done and the healing wasn't bad. Same story with another friend of mine. Good Luck! |

I didn't have one at the time. Wasn't dating anyone. But I never had a complaint about them. Lol. The girls that saw me after I had it done were asking about the scars but I told them I didn't plan on being a stripper or doing porn so I figured I would be alright. |

| Had my reduction 8+ years ago. Insurance wouldn't cover it so it was all out of pocket. Best present I ever bought myself! I had minimal pain. Day 2 I had some slight discomfort so I took the meds they gave me. My body couldn't take the pain meds and I threw up for 3 days straight. Taking those pills was WAY worse than the little pain I had. I was back to doing normal stuff within 2 weeks.
I could care less about scars, I typically keep my clothes on in public. I'd say most barrel racers have plenty of scars on their legs, who cares about a couple more in a spot very few people will ever see?!?
My husband is a "boob" guy but he knew the pain and discomfort I had carrying those things around. While he was sad to see them go he was 110% supportive of me having the reduction. It was my decision in the end and I'm forever glad I did it.
Edited to add - I was a DDD. Wanted to go down to a full B but surgeon vetoed me. He said with my frame, height and build it wouldn't look natural so he brought me down to a full C, took out almost 2.5 pounds of breast tissue. He was right on the size.

I have always consoled myself that at least I can run my horse without having to wear a sports bra!
I hope you heal well and fast and love your results! |

| My mom and aunt both have had it done - 2 weeks they had minimal to no pain and they were up and going like normal after about a month. Good Luck! |

Location: Southeast Ga | I work for a Plastic Surgeon and we do more reductions then Augmentations. Insurance will cover it if you are big enough where a certain amount of grams will be removed. Also have shoulder grooving, history of back and neck pain, and also rashes under your breasts. We get it pre-approved with your insurance company. Usually, according to your ins. plan of course, some out of pocket has to be paid.

Location: Texas | I had four pounds removed to bring me down to a full D. I was riding by four weeks. Do not cheat on this. I tried riding early and started to have stitches break. Just take the time to heal. Minimal pain. Make sure you are taking meds on time don't wait until it starts to hurt. It was the best thing I ever had done and insurance covered it! It's so nice to be able to find bras in my size now. |

| I have quite a bit of pain right now. It's not unbearable but dang sure know they took a knife to me! I'm bruised, swollen, stitched, etc.. They have me on a 5#weight lift limit and no driving for 3weeks. I'm going to really try to follow directions.
I had held off bc I really wanted to have kids and breastfeed but dang I'm not getting any younger and frankly they were a pain constantly. I got to where I was having to buy a 2XL shirt for my boobs.
My hubby is supportive. He's a little freaked out and basically told him he was not allowed to look until they heal up a little. It's pretty graphic I think.. |

| Oh the final straw on making the step for consultation was not being able to wear a DD bra that I ordered. I'm 5'2".. I think they took 550cc each side. Gotta go back Wednesday for a check up.

That is exactly what my surgeon said too.

I want to believe that a caring husband wouldn't object to relief of discomfort. Maybe sad that they're gone, but I would hope not unsupportive.
