Location: LouLouVille, OK | So how in the world did Bobby Mote get rerides all the time when his score wasn't in the 80's but no one else did? he didn't get fowled or anything, I think the judging is a little more then questionable... So not only was the ground crap, the rough stock events in my opinion were not judged fair... there was a long haired bb rider that was constantly getting low 70's and NO offers for rerides... things that make me go...HUMMMMM |

Location: NC | I didn't keep up with who got rerides and who didnt. but I did see where someone would get a reride because bronc was walking on front feet yet a bronc slipped and fell down on backend and didn't get a reride... Thought that was strange. |

Location: Kansas | I thought other than Will Lowe being under scored a few rounds, the bareback riding judging was pretty decent this year. The long haired guy who was in the low 70s a lot was J.R. Vezain and he wasn't making the controlled spur rides that judges expect at the NFR. His upper body was flopping quite a bit and most rides, at least one foot was below the shoulder the majority of the ride. Those things really get your score lowered. There were some iffy rerides given and I do remember one night that Bobby Mote got one he might not really have deserved. The thing that really bothered me was how low they scored Will Lowe the last 3/4 of the NFR. Matt says its a conspiracy against short-legged bareback riders LOL.
The barebacks & saddle broncs had some horses there who I didn't think deserved to be there. The ducking, diving, trashy ones in particular. Those are no fun to ride and no fun to watch IMO. |

Total score is not the basis for awarding the re-ride. Β The decision should be made on the horses contribution to the total score. Β
^^^^ This.
If the horse was scored at 15 points (each side) and the rider rode the hair off of them and got say 22 points each side, that 30 pints for the horse and 44 points for the rider for a total of 74 points. Since the rider was not able to show the total of his skill on a lesser animal, he could be given a reride.
Now the horse bucks like a hurricane is and is scored 23 points each side , but the rider is hanging on like a rag doll, out of control and gets 15 points a side. 46 points for the horse and 30 for the rider, for a total of 76 points.....no reride.
Does this makes sense? |

This ^^^
I saw a lot of guys not get re-rides because they didn't ride well. I thought the overall "bronc" riding at the NFR sucked. |

Location: LouLouVille, OK | Now see I thought the pen of horses each night was even... I think a few had off nights, but Bobby Mote got like 2 or 3 rerides when I didn't think he deserved them, his horses bucked like the others. and yea, some of them got a little wild with their rides, but just because Bobby didn't have enough horse to compete? is that it? cause it's the luck of the draw... |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I heard the announcers guess re-ride options were coming quite a few times and was surprised they were wrong that many times. I thought that was odd. But, I am not a good rough stock judge, so I had no idea, lol. I know enough about what I'm looking at to recognize a good ride, but that's about it. And it seemed off to me, too. |

Naa, my hubby says its a conspiracy against him and his fantasy rodeo rider, if Will would have scored what he should have, we would be richer in our house this week :) |

And the sad thing is, it wasn't just THIS NFR that Will hasn't scored what he should have!
My husbands comment about it was Will must have ****ed someone off, and sadly I would have to agree, there is no reason in the world that Will should not have been marked higher numerous times throughout the week. He rode entirely to well to take home as little money as he did...

| I felt like all the rough stock was judged poorly. The night that Beau Hill rode Bar T's Bird Creek in the bull riding and was only scored a 72??.. I think that was was to low!! |

Location: Oregon | I always root for Bobby, because I knew his Dad and him. There were a few horses that he drew that bucked like HS Rodeo horses. He didn't get rerides on all of them. Now I also didn't pay attention to those that did or did not get rerides when they were deserved so I cannot comment on the others. Hoping next year Thomas and Mack improves that ground, it was horrible. Even for rodeo standards. I was just happy to watch this year from home and next year I am going. Will be a real game changer with the new payouts coming next year. Saw someplace where it would be possible next year with the increases for a contestant to make $250,000-$300,000 that week. What a pay off. |

Location: Kansas | I also want to add that it was very refreshing this year to see Kaycee Feild scored like he deserved......not 4 points higher. The guy is amazing to watch but the last few years he has been gifted quite a bit and it rubs me the wrong way. I really enjoyed the bareback riding this year and thought the guys looked really good other than Vezain about half the time. My family and I always root for Will Lowe because he grew up in Kansas and went to the URA shows when he started riding, plus Matt went to grade school with one of his sisters I believe. I keep hoping he'll put on a school because Matt would really like to go learn from him and figure out the secret to being a short legged bareback rider. |

Location: Cypress, Texas | I watched bobby closely this year, on the count that he was my neighbor this late summer-fall. His rerides were awarded on the same basis as other riders, I feel that many of the horses were not at the NFR level on their performance nights. I'm actually kind of of upset that someone would feel that one rider would get more rerides than another because of a name. The fact is that the judges felt that bobby needed the rerides, they are the judges and we are not. My buddies who are prca BB riders ITO felt that the judges were very fair this year, IMO (im not an expert in no way, just an observer and a fan) it was fair. |

Location: mi | I have a question. How come when a horse doesn't buck well they get a reride. But when a steer ducks off or stops in steer wrestling. They don't get a chance to go again? |
