Location: Texas | I saw that on facebook yesterday and I honestly hadn't thought about it either. But I can see how it would be hard for little kids to understand. I will make sure that the nice gifts are from me and my husband and let Santa get the smaller gifts. Besides....smaller gifts fit in the sleigh a lot easier! |

| I never put from Santa on my daughters gifts when she was little . I had one friend who would leave her a gift at the barn that said from Santa figured that was good enough. |

oh, I was HOT!! Thank goodness his sister was their to save the day. she's in 1st and told him that since the teacher didn't believe in Santa she was going to get coal, haha! We have been dealing with her all year and we aren't the only parents. My son makes me make his lunch because she told him that if he didn't try everything on his plate he would be put on yellow(the do a board and the colors represent good and bad and the get prizes for getting good days, blue, green, yellow, orange, and then red(principles office)) which is ok but if he didn't like it the first time he tried it don't make him eat it again! She told his sister that she wasn't allowed to walk him to his classroom anymore that he was big enough to do it on his own, the way I see it, that's his sister and if they want to walk together who is she to tell them they can't! had a parent teacher conference and she was talking about the wrong kid for 10 minutes when I finally asked her "are we talking about my kid?", theres only 12 in his class!!! Several of us parents, the one's from this year and last year, have gone and talked to the school. Basically, she's the bankers daughter and they aren't getting rid of her. She was put in Pre-k so that the kindergarten teacher could fix them before they go into 1st. Last year over half the kids couldn't even write their names when they went into kindergarten! ugh... sorry rant over! |

Oh i completely understand. My twins aren't school age yet (just made 1) but my nephew is in 3rd grade and my poor sister is having just as many problems with his teacher. Many parents (including her) have had conferences and everything else and nothing gets done. It's sad that schools allow teachers like that to teach especially when the children are so young and easily influinced. I could understand middle or high school but these kids are still so young! At least the school year is half way over now!! |

Location: Pacific Northwest | My parents never really pushed the whole Santa thing on my brother and I. We had gifts from "Santa" but we were so little that we didn't care one way or the other who they came from. I don't remember ever being told Santa was fake or being devastated by it because I never fully believed to begin with.
I know the thing the OP is talking about and I read it too, and I thought the people had a point. It talks about how if one little kid gets like a PlayStation 4 from Santa when another little kid only gets a hat & mittens (because their parents don't have as much money) it would be hard for the "poor" little kid to understand why Santa didn't get them a fancy gift but their friend got one.
I guess I just have a hard time understanding it though because we weren't raised believing in Santa and neither were any of my friends so it was never an issue growing up. And all I wanted was stuff for my horses, so I didn't care about the fancy things my friends got.
I just don't think Santa is as big of an issue as people make it out to be.

Location: Displaced Iowegian | It is really hard staying ahead of the kids these days anyway….they are soooo smart. Most just believe in Santa to “appease” their parents. I remember one Christmas when my boys were VERY young, I had wrapped Santa’s gifts in the same paper as ours….My youngest (Pre-K) caught it RIGHT away…..I had to make a quick story about how in the world could Santa deliver all those presents in ONE night…He had dropped theirs off last week for ME to wrap…..I don’t think he believed me……LOL I also used to tell them (when their lists were long with lots of expensive things) that Santa sends me a bill after Christmas. He would send us a bill because we could "pay" for presents and that way he could give more to the poor kids.... |

This was what did it for me ... and Santa's hand writing looks an awful lot like my moms. |

| My oldest would go look in the outside trash for any evidence - boxes, etc, to see if the gifts had come from the store and not Santa. We would put it in the trunk of the car. |
