in yalls opinion, what are race bred horses that are quiet and that are workers. Example, ivory james, some corona cartels. Horses, that have the speed, that are quiet and that work. Hope yall understand. Let us get a long list. I know some of race bred that are a quiet as working bred. I always had good luck with easy jet grand get, would peel, paint off the barrel. Then lady bugs moon mare was a worker. I like both old and new lines.

My Burrs First Down was. He was as honest as the day was long and so are his offspring. Real good work ethic and absolutely no quit. I love a horse with try. I have heard that is a First Down Dash trait. My mares have been scattered from ranch bred, Easy Jet g-daughters, lots of Beduino, Sixarun, Docs Oak, Mr Dark Jet, Takin On The Cash etc. Now I have a Special Leader, A Classic Dash and Ivory James in foal to him for his last foal crop. Of all his babies there was only one we just couldn't stand and it was out of a Stage Bar Ted daughter and I now suspect she had PSSM and I bet he did too. He also was snake bit on the nose as a 2 yr old and acted fried ever since that.

So to get down to it, I personally am a huge huge fan of anything FDD g-son/daughter or closer. I have heard Corona Cartels are very user friendly and really like people. Own get are just too pricey to end up in the arena on a regular basis, but his sons PYC and Ivory James are really making a name for themselves. My IJ filly had a track injury so we just use her for a broodmare, but I have never seen a young filly with the mind of a been there done that horse at so young an age.

I have a son of Special Leader and so far his colts want to work and have a cool style on the barrels. I have one who is out of a cow bred mare who I think is going to be pretty special all the rest are race bred but are turning machines. I love love these colts and hope they keep showing me the same good qualities as we start getting more of them out there.

They don't come more honest and big-hearted than my Three Ohs x BA75 gelding.
I've never had one bred like him, so don't know if he's just a freak of nature, but I would take them all if they were anything like him!

Not sure how ALL bully bullion mares are but I have or that is quiet and sweet as the day is long...will stand tied or do what you ask all day long without question. ..and then has enough gas to go go go when asked! Throws fastest babies in the pasture hands down each year...

Bugs alive! I had a son (BA75/Ichibon)that didn't know the word quit. He hated getting in trouble. Very sensitive and loving. He wasn't a brush horse really, but would work for me anyway all day long. It didn't matter what we did, trairoding, barrels or working cows, he was up for it. Love and miss my boy.

I love, love, love my FDD boys. I have 2 grandsons, same sire. They are hard workers and want to please. The 6 yr old is double bred FDD and was a rescue for me. His dam is an own daughter of Holland Ease out of a Shawnee Bug mare. I got him in March of this year, he was unbroke so I knew it was a gamble. He is the absolute kindest, smartest, horse I've ever worked with. No buck, no bite. I can haul him anywhere, anytime and he rides, stands tied like an old pro! I also have a 3 yr old Ivory James out of Runaway Winner daughter. He is very smart and athletic. Absolutely LOVES people and quite a character. I'm just now 're-starting him bc he just came off track in July and he's been turned out to just be a horse. So far I'm impressed :) I also have a Jet Cartel (deceased) gelding out of same Runaway Winner mare. They are 3/4 brothers and are the same. I had another Jet Cartel out of daughter of streak in la Jolla she was catty, quick and fast learner. I sold her back to her breeders bc she is black typed and a $$ earner on track. They are going to breed her

El Scorcho is used for everything from picking up daiquiri's at the drive thru by my house, to ponying our other horses, halter breaking, riding my 5 year old nieces, teaching my 12 year old niece to ride and learning barrels with me. He is the horse we grab for any work needed. He is Streakin Six, Tinys Gay and Three Bars bred.

I have an FDD paternal grand daughter (direct daughter of Dash Thru Traffic) out of a daughter of Strawfly Special (and yes she's got a little Beduino in there too) IMO she rarely ever gets hot at a race, the worse is she can get a little strong when you start to warm her up, but she has gotten very good at settling down. LOVES to work, have a job, be doing something and learning. I've put beginners on her in my arena, novice on her for trail rides, I use her for ponying my other finished barrel horses, etc. She has a very versatile mind on her but gets the job done when asked at the same time.

I have a Stoli daughter... that is all business.  Show her what you want and get out of the way.  No spook, buck or silliness.  She does have a great big motor, but she's a cowy quick thing.

We have some friends with 2 and 3 year olds out of Best Advice. Great minds, chase cows in the mountains, SPEED, and great to be around. From what we have been hearing these are pretty common trait in his colts. Son of Corona Cartel, mother is Bully Bullion and Easy Jet.

His dam is also a granddaughter of BA75. He is my first experience with Strawfly Special and Sixarun, but we've had quite a few BA75 and The Signature and they've all had good minds. I've been very impressed with this colt so far and very excited to see what he can do, and hopefully see what he can produce in the future!
