Location: Oklahoma | It's ridiculous. I had DirecTV for 15 years and moved and now have had Dish for 3 months and they did this. I really enjoy watching Imus in the morning on Fox business and now it's off. I am thinking flooding Fox and Dish with protest e-mails might help. |

| My understanding is that DISH doesn't want to pay the increased fees. So, if DISH relents, then they will have no choice but to increase their fees to us. I'm going to wait and see who caves in first, DISH or FOX. If DISH is not pressured too much to cave in, then perhaps FOX will have to reconsider the charges. I'm all for DISH trying to hold the line on costs. I, too, watch Imus or Fox & Friends every morning, but I can manage without them for a few weeks while this plays out. |

This....did anyone think that just maybe Dish is trying to save you money? If FOX wants to jack up prices and DISH pays it , guess who gets to make up that price jump? Then your rates go up and you'll be complaining about the price increase. |

I've had them 9years and never a price increase, have replaced my equipment for free because it was old and their customer service seems to always be nice. When we change it'll be because we will be moving to rabbit ears! |

that's what I liked about them so much! My wireless router went out, and they sent me a brand new one at no cost, and even knocked $10 off my bill for 3 months! |

| I think DISH is in hot water over this. They black out FOX before the contract was up. FOX is the #1 rated news. Seems to me they ate just posturing and I think DISH will cave. I know that FOX wasn't happy with the increase DISH wanted. FOX said it was similar to trying to close on a house and your realator is trying to force you to buy a car too. |

Location: Arkansas | Probably just like in the past. Getting us set up for a rate hike. To the poster who hasn't had a rate increase in 9 years you must have a different DISH than I do. Remember they removed A&E for a while too |

| I got sick of it too! I finally just went to the bare minimum package and added the Heartland package for $3.00 (on special) and figured I needed to watch less TV anyway. I also need to try and stay off my DA____ phone internet because I'm sick of paying for AIR!!!!!! What am I doing spending $200 a month between tv and telephone when that could be spent on horse stuff! |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | My husband is going nuts not having Fox News so I go on the internet and find the videos of what they ar talking about and he plays them and watch. It's all about negoiating for a price and what is being said on FB is beyond ridiculous. I thought FOX watchers were smarter then that but it proves that America is dumbing down no matter where they get their News Source from. Dish replaces equipment when it breaks down and has given us good customer service. I hate DirecTV so that change isn't going to happen. Pretty interesting that many that are on Fox News and Fox Business are on vacation right now. I really don't like how Fox has reported the way this is going down because it sure isn't fair and balanced. |

I read that quote as well - about trying to close on a house and the realtor is trying to force you to buy a car too - but the article I read attributed it to a Dish representative, not Fox. From what I understood in the article, Fox is trying to use Fox News and Business as leverage to get Dish to pay more for their other channels - sports, etc. Here's the article: http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2014/12/22/fox-dish-co...
Across the board, I'm so incredibly sick of the posturing, threats, and public negotiations between broadcast channels and TV providers. It's been like watching a bunch of toddlers squabble: "He started it!" "Yeah well she said THIS!" "Did not!" "Did too!" UGH! |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | Periodically the sattelite providers reach the end of their current contracts with various broadcast providers and renegotiation has to take place. Often times they lose a channel or group of channels. 99% of the time they eventually come to terms and programming is restored. It is not just Dish. It happened when I was with Direct. It happens with the various cable providers. It is a function of the business they are in and it will happen periodically. |

| DirecTV took away our "local" CBS station for a few weeks because of such negotiations. Am tired of paying so much for TV. Guess I am going to have to invest in an ugly antenna tower and booster to go back to "free" TV. I thought we were all guaranteed local network programming when they forced this whole HDTV down our throats.
What happened to the days when , if you paid for TV/cable, you got to skip the commercials........just what is it we are paying for now? |

Me too. I have had Dish 20+ years. Haven't had a rate increase and have always been easy to work with. I don't remember why but I had Direct put in my LQ trailer and I would never use them again. |

| Its drama. They dish are trying to threaten us about a 10.00 increase a month, that is bull hockey for a couple of news channels. If you fuss they will give you 5.00 a month for 3 months. |
