New year new you. What is everyone choosing for a resolution this year?
My resolution is to just be more positive about life in general and try to not let things get me down. Also to try and get a promotion at work this year!

I don't know yet, but I think I'm going to put on my list getting my colt started under saddle.

To do my filing at work DAILY (I never thought I'd be one of those people that let papers stack up in baskets.. but I have become one)

Cook more meals at home. We eat out entirely wayyy too much.

Take more risks & worry less. I feel like I'm too "comfortable" & don't live life to the fullest because I'm too concerned with the consequences or worried about making mistakes. Other than praying, Idk how I'm going to change but I'm going to give it a try lol

My fiance and I are going to become healthier as a couple.  Cut back on sodas, junk processed food, fast food, etc.  We aare also going to get back into old routines like jogging, lifting weights, etc.
I ended up 10th in the rodeo association I run in last year and I plan on doing better this year.  So that involves riding more and getting in shape so I can keep up with my pony.  Also, I need to work on my domestic engineering skills, my mama taught me how to clean a barn, not a house!! LOL
I'm planning a wedding, finishing up my LAST semester of college, and interning this semester so I have to stay focused and organized.

Not like normal. I actually started mine before New Years! I am going to have a healthy diet, I AM going to ride more, I AM going to find some kind of work/life balance, and WE are going to build a useable budget!

Fun stuff- rope more together, enjoy a camping/road trip to Montana in July and NFR in December.

Usually for my resolutions I always want to lose weight but this year I've thought maybe I should focus on things that are more important rather than petty and self centered.
For one, I want to become more organized and keep my house more picked up and tidy. I have found that I become very frazzled and cranky when my house is a mess which it is most of the time. So I have been researching lots of organization tips and have purchased containers and shelving to make things easier.
But my biggest resolution is that I want to be a better, more kind and loving person. I know especially in the horse world and in its competitive atmosphere we can get wrapped up in comparing ourselves and tearing people done. I have a friend in particular that every time I am around her I feel depressed about myself because she is constantly tearing others down and being unkind and makes sure to talk about her wonderful life highlights. I don't want to be known for that so I have decided to work hard to not say anything if I can't say something nice. No more gossip! I will lift others up and encourage them!

If you want to have peace in your life separate yourself from negative people. I can't tell you how much that will change your life. I hate to say this but these are not friends. Please pass on some organizational tips---I could use some.

1.) Grow my business
2.) Actually get my mare in good shape
3.) Compete and I mean actually compete this year. I've graduated with my second degree so no more school, im self employed...What's stopping me now? Oh wait time lol But I bought my card for our state rodeo association and I want to actually put my money to use and my mare who has been basically sitting for the last couple of years.
4.) Get into good shape my self and get toned
5.) Spend more time with my family. After loosing my mother this last year, I realized I let school and life take up too much of my time.

But most of all just live and enjoy life each day!!! Because when you loose someone so close to you, you realize life is SO precious.

Get into an alternative teaching license program and find a teaching job for the 2015-16 school year! I am working on it by enrolling in a full load of English & literature classes this semester - have to be a student at 3 different jucos to get the classes I need but hey I'm going to enjoy being a Blue Devil, Red Devil and Conquistador all at once!

I'm also going to start working out again so I can keep up with that blaze faced rocket we call Clifford. :)
