I believe that Dallas/Ft Worth would be the last place in Texas that I would want to move to. Can't stand the **** traffic

...that ain't no lie! I work in Dallas (actually Richardson) off 75/635. I commute an hour from the burbs.... traffic is TERRIBLE. I go in earlier to try and miss the bulk of traffic.

Can't speak to jobs in HVAC though. I would think it would be as good as any other hot southern area. Mine went out two years ago during one of our 100+ heat waves. :(

Have you checked out career builder or jobs.com to see if there are any companies hiring (assuming you don't have your own business)?

I just paid a BB to drive a horse through Dallas for me, so I wouldn't have to get too close to it lol. Best money I've ever spent.

I was thinking of living like in granbury and working around Dallas. To make the good money in commercial I have to work in big towns.

My guess would be that it is good. The company I work for has had a hard time hiring hvac people because we pay too little. I am in a small town between Houston and Dallas. Then when we went out to bid because we needed HVAC work we couldn't even get bids because people were to busy to even come do our job. So, hopefully that's an indication that HVAC is booming in the Houston and Dallas area.

All of your big cities you are going to have traffic that sucks but you will have a better pay scale and lots of customers so it's a trade off. As far as work goes..I would look at the Austin area.

I don't think there is anywhere in Texas where you aren't going to find a teamroping to go to. Salado has a lot of them along with the Rose Palace in San Antonio that is about 100 miles south of Austin.

Austin is building like crazy. Do you do residential or commercial?

I highly doubt that the Marshall area is going to pay anything.

East Texas is very humid and everytime we go to Marshall I get tired of squishing around in my boots. Austin would have warmer winters.

You really need to visit both areas as they are like day and night.
