Location: somewhere in the south | With temps dropping and our first winter with a LQ trailer I have a question???? Can you plug your trailer in and just set the heat to a decent temp and leave it so the pipes (if I haven't gotten all the water out!) won't freeze??? Also, what about the gray and black water tanks????

Location: Where I am happiest | No. You need to empty everything out and blow the lines out. Even your grey and black tank's can/will freeze solid if anything is left in there. There is alot of info on line as to winterizing your trailer. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | If you can't dump your waste tanks, pour RV antifreeze in them to get by. Not ideal, but better than nothing. Your fresh water tank can be drained tho, shut off water to the hot water heater, drain it from the outside, then use your pump to fill the lines with RV antifreeze. If you look where your freshwater tank and pump are, you will see the valves to do all this and there should be an open line to your water pump to stick in the jug, then turn faucets on one at a time until pink runs out. I have used a heater in the trailer to get by, but when it gets as cold as it's about to, you really need to have the winterizing done. There are youtube vids if you need more help. |

| Depends HOW cold you are talking about too. If "cold" is above 32 degrees, you'll be fine, if not, you need to winterize that trailer. You shouldn't have to move it to winterize it - although you do need to drain the water. We blow out our lines and put RV antifreeze in the "P" traps - but google, there is a lot of info on how to do this. |

Location: somewhere in the south | It's suppose to get down to 11 tonight with wind chills bringing it to around 0 by morning and then no higher than freezing tomorrow all day...............I can't empty the gray/black water tanks because I can't get it out so I'm gonna try to put rv antifreeze in it and hope for the best! Any other help would be much appreciated!! |

Location: Cap'n Joan Rotgut.....alberta | i drain mine and run rv antifreeze in to all the lines and hotwater tank....then i drain in really good in the spring and flush it out and i use some kind of powder that takes the smell or taste of any antifreeze ......from the sounds of it i dont think your going to get cold enough to do any damage...i have stayed in my trailer at -15 and colder and it was all good......

Good idea. We moved a good sized house through a frozen cotton field once. It got down to 18 degrees that night, and they started at 5 am so they would be finished before the sun came up. |

is there companies that winterize it for you? We currently don't have a place to plug it in or keep it out of the cold since our indoor is full of hay.
I'm pretty excited about it AND I think my boyfriend is more excited for me to haul more than I am. He got an eye full of those new LQ's and said... "why didn't you tell me they made these kind of trailers, these are pretty neat?!" ahah |

Windchill has nothing to do with ambiant temperature. Water will not freeze in 35 degrees even with a 50 mile per hour wind. As turning on the heat, that will help but most lines are behind insulation.
I always would drain all tanks and then blow out the lines. If you can't do that then do as someone said and use some RV anti freeze. |

Every camper and RV facility in our area will winterize an LQ for a fee. Prety hefty fee in these parts. |

Any RV place will winterize it for you...we sell both horse trailers and RV's and have a repair shop for both, and we are snowed under winterizing in the fall...
To the OP...even a teaspoon of water in the water pump will crack it, and they cost over $100....so you need to get heat in the trailer with the cabinet doors and bathroom door left open....propane furnace heat will work but be sure you don't run out of propane....when you winterize, dont just dump the water and think you're done, either blow it out of the lines and make sure there's no water left in the faucets or hot water heater, or run RV antifreeze through the lines until the faucets run pink.
