| I have a Double J Pozzi Pro and LOVE it, but I am starting to realize that it feels like it is throwing me forward on one of my horses, it seems like I am having to work extra hard to stay back on this horse. Has anyone else ever had a problem where they feel like these saddles sit you more forward than others?? |

Location: Southern Indiana | The pozzi's have a higher cantle and I think that's what makes most people feel as if they are being thrown forward. I personally love it. I tend to ride more forward and in a pozzi I can stay up on my horse to push and still feel secure. If your a rider who sits back and likes to put your feet slightly in front of you the pozzi really won't allow you to do so.
I just purchased a pro and noticed that it does have a lower cantle. I havn't rode in it yet, but I know I'm going to love it. I will just probably choose one of my pozzi's over it for the really hard turners! |

| I LOVE this saddle and have never had this problem on any other horse I ride, I tend to be a forward rider myself, but this horse wants to get super chargey if you are forward at all. So, I just purchased him his own special saddle that I know will allow me to get back a little more just for him....lol. I was just wondering if this was my imagination or if anyone else has ever noticed. Thank for the reply!!!!! |

| Yes, it is correct, I have been riding this saddle for a couple of years, this is the first horse I have ever had an issue with and ridden this saddle on about a dozen horses....lol....this horse has been difficult in every way, so why not be difficult and need your own special saddle too...lol! |

Location: midwest mama | Yep - just on one horse I have.
I have decided that the stirrups on the Pozzi are too free swinging for this horse and lets me get my feet behind me too much for this horse's turning style. |

Do you have another saddle that this doesn't happen on this horse? |

| When I was searching for a new saddle I looked into the pozzi and lots of people said the saddle gave you that effect with being more forward. I needed a saddle that kept me in so decided against getting one |

Have a deb sibley and love it! I detest being thrown forward in a saddle. Those connie combs circle Y saddles were the WORST for that! |

Location: Crowder, OK | Easy fix!!!! I bought one earlier this summer because their number ten tree is the only tree that will fit my horse. loved riding the saddle, hated making a run in it! Ive never been tossed forward like i was in this saddle, felt like i was riding like a monkey! I had always ridden shiloh contenders and never had this prob but they just kept bridging my horse. i figured out the stirrup leathers on my pozzi was not as wide as my contender, therefore, the stirrups on my pozzi had more movement forward and back! hence my feet going back. I secured my stirrup leathers were they couldnt go back and my saddle is now perfect and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are not the first one to have this prob, Ive heard alot of peeps say it and i will admit I hated making a run in mine at first but now its great! |

Location: Alberta, Canada | I felt that way the first time I rode my Pozzi. I was terrified because I sold my favorite saddle of all time to buy one as that's all that fit my OTTB. I gave myself a few rides to get used to it and now I love it. It definitely allows alot more movement than I was expecting and I think maybe that's why I felt that way... not sure tho! |

Location: SE Missouri | That was the feeling I got when I tried one and the reason I didn't buy it! I have two crown C's I feel square and balanced yet can move any direction I need.
Hopefully you can find a solution :) |

| Something you might also check is the width of the gullet. Have a saddle that I rode everything in and put it on a new mare last summer. Even going slow I found myself leaning forward, it made me feel like I was scared and riding tentatively. Also hated my Special EEFX on this mare...same thing. Finally measured the gullet of that saddle and it is 8" and I'm thinking this mare might need a 6 - 6 1/2" gullet. Right now I am using a 7" gullet, with a built up pad, and a seat size that allows my to lock in my arms for the turns and the getting thrown forward issue has almost resolved itself.
The horse you are having issues with just might need a narrower gullet. Compare your horses' backs and see how similar/dissimilar they are.

Location: Idahome | I have never had this issue with my Pozzi. I did get it a 1/2 size bigger than I normally ride and that may be what helps. I had gotten it because of the deeper seat and I really feel that I can sit deep when I need, but I can get forward when I need as well. |

| If it doesn't throw you forward I bet it will cause you lean. Very few people can ride in them without leaning or being thrown forward in the turns. I HATE a high back....if you get in trouble and had to do some trick riding you can't help yourself. I like low backs and more of a cutting saddle feel. |

| I appreciate all the replies, this is definitely the correct seat size for me and it does fit my horse, I checked that and then checked again after reading this thread, just to be sure twice....lol. I have noticed I lean worse in this saddle on him and another horse I ride, but him the worst and he just can't handle it. I LOVE this saddle for other horses I have, I have a really setty gelding and love it for him, but this guy is just super free running and so when I am up forward on him, he runs harder and gets chargey and freaked out. I tried a Shiloh on this dude and it fit like a glove and it was like riding a different horse and I felt like I was way more square in the saddle on him and not over his neck, so I have ordered one for him. I won't part with the Pozzi, just had to do something different for this guy sinc ei plan to hang onto him for awhile:) |
