Location: Silver Lake, MN | I had seen were people were using pallets for shelves and in my search I saw were people had used them for accent walls. So thrifty as we are thought we would give it a try and I am SUPER excited how it turned out. We will clear over it and finish the trim but wanted to share our "pallet" wall. |

Location: Silver Lake, MN | I will have to take more pictures this weekend, wall is done and carpet is going in tomorrow. I love the rustic look and am super excited for how it turned out as neither of us have any skill when it come to decor and woodworking. |

| We did it too! We aren't going to clear ours. I also asked hubby if he could put a false tin roof and build a rustic looking door for my awkward coat closet. The roof is made of pallet wood, the door is made of old 2x4s and pallet and the trim is pallet as well. We will be doing all of our base boards and trim with refurbished wood!

Thank you! I love the lighter color of your wood!
Did you find it to be an incredibly tedious on taking?

Yes! LOL. Worse part was cutting them up and trying to get sizes to match up. But it wasn't bad enough I don't want to do more! LOL. I want to do it in my tack room too. |

Location: Central Texas | Here's my question......How in the heck do you get the nails out??? The pallets that I have access to I can't get the nails out. I had plans to do some cool stuff and collected a ton of pallets only to discover that I seriously can not get the dang nails out. |

You have to cut them apart. We couldn't get them out either so we just the planks off. |

Hmm, ok so the nails are still in them? You cut through the nails on the back side....trying to understand....what did you use? I have a sawz all... |

I think she means they cut the planks at the nails so they were left with planks that had no nails or holes. That would be the easiest way to do it. Those nails have little brads(?) so they don't work out of the wood. AND THEY ARE THERE TO STAY!
I took every single plank after hubby broke them down and hammered the opposite end of the nail until the point was flush with the wood. Then flipped the board over and used the claw to pull them the rest of the way out. Some came out easy, some needed a little convincing and some argued quite a bit! The newer pallets were definitely the hardest to get the nails out of! |

We did use a sawzall with metal cutting blades. We left the nails in as it cut them flush with the wood and then they are attached to the wall so it gives it some character I thought. |
