| "It's not the trailer you pull with, it's the horse you pull out of the trailer" and all that jazz.
Don't worry about what other people have. Honestly, I think you'll find the bumper pull to be pretty low hassle and convenient. |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | I pulled a bumper pull with my half ton Chevy to my college rodeos..no one said anything and half the kids had same as me ...most of us pooled together anyway to split gas/diesel...no one laughs either when you are winning or the one not having to struggle to make a trailer/truck pmt for those rigs either...it was worth it too because I graduated and now have my big rig :) keep your chin up !! |

| I pulled a rusted stock/combo trailer that said "Character Builder" on the side in hot pink because my Mom thought that I needed a constant reminder of the important things in life. I would always try to park close to the big rigs because those trailers had exterior lights and if I parked just right I could use their lights to help me see to unsaddle my horse.

Location: North Central Iowa Land of white frozen grass | Its called mental wars. I loved it when we pulled a a rusty goose neck trailer for my daughters. It was all we could afford at the time. We ran cows and had to have a stock trailer and my daughters understood that. Didn't stop them from winning. |

HAHA love this!!! Your mom and my mom would get along well! I remember as a kid the first really fancy rig I saw at a barrel race. Will never forget it. I was probably 15 and this black crew cab Chevy pulled in with a black and aluminum trailer both with matching turquoise graphics. I was like WOWWWWWWWWWWWW and so was everyone else. Then when they stepped out and we realized who it was my mom turned to me and said, "too bad they don't have anything decent to put in it," and we turned around and walked back to our jeep cherokee and rusted out one horse. Well spoken and something i'll never forget! |

| pulled a cowboy trailer for High school and college rodeos... not going to lie, certain types of people will look down on you but those that you really want to be around will not care one iota! It always felt nice to whoop ass and load up in my little cowboy trailer and go home. |

| Oh college rodeos... Like another poster said, most of those people pulling the fancy rigs aren't as concerned with you as you might think. They're wrapped up in their own fantasy. You take pride in what you have and them think whatever they want.
I made some life long friends "carpooling" to rodeos. Whoever had the bigger rig (i.e. most room for horses, usually a stock trailer), we'd use and split gas/diesel to get to the rodeo. We all had good horses and placed frequently, and I don't remember one time being asked what kind of trailer I had after pulling a check. |

Location: North Dakota | I never had a trailer at college, Dad delivered me and horse and the only time we went anywhere was on our own feet or with the rig from the college. We did bum rides occassionally but I would have been thrilled to have my own rig no matter how it looked. Doesn't make me a winner or a loser however, it does make me satisfied with the little things in life.......trust me things could always be worse than having to pull a *gasp* bumper pull trailer.....yes I'm being sarcastic. These are the things you will talk about in 20, 30 years-they build character one way or another. |

| A lot of students live in their living quarters at school rather than paying to rent an apartment. They can fix their own food and pay a good size note with what it would take to pay for an apartment. Also, Texas is a big place and a long way to most rodeos. Many spend the night in their trailer rather than getting a motel room. LQ trailers can actually save you money. If you have a bumper pull I am sure that you will not be the only person with one, but when you drive 8 to 10 hours to get to a rodeo, I am sure that you will probably stay over night before driving back. |
