| I heard a rumor that the rodeo had a Muslim prayer said before a performance. I called the stock show to verify, the number is 817-877-2400. The lady denied it being a Muslim prayer, but specified it was done by an Imam speaker. An Imam speaker is someone that leads Islamic prayer, and a Muslim is someone who follows Islam. I cannot believe they allowed this to happen!
Evidently, they now have a religious sensitivity committee devoted to promoting world peace.
Nice cause, but the prayer at a rodeo led by an Islamic leader..terrible!
Edits for better definition of Imam and clarifying of my statement.

| I'm going to say it and I don't care who I offend. That is a total disgrace for them to have that at Ft. Worth rodeo. Culture my azz! With the religious war we are fighting world wide against those people, that is insane. I hope whoever arranged that is removed from the board. I can only imagine how any veteran there had to feel. Grrrrhhhh!!! |

| can someone explain what the problem is with it?? I mean Muslims believe in Allah, which is the Muslim name for God. They believe in one God who created the universe and has power over everything in it, isn't that close to what we "Christians" in America believe. I know there is a difference because of their belief to not worship any other besides Allah and the punishments they put forth if done. But I don't think that the true Muslim is one of evil intent, so I don't see what the harm would be in them saying a prayer. I'm not saying this to be flamed but if someone would give me an explanation that would be great...
I am not a very spiritual person, no I don't know the bible, I am a person that hasn't made up my mind of what to believe but open to understand it... |

I would like to see a text of this "Muslim" prayer before I made any assumptions.....there are several well-known Imams that have spoken (led non-denominational prayers, etc) in Congress, etc for peace, etc....and just to note....in the 2010 census.....Texas ranked FIRST in the nation for the number of Muslims....New York is second.
Was it good judgment on the part of the Rodeo Committee...probably not....will it impact your beliefs.....probably not..... |

| New tie-down rule disqualifies and fines $300 for a calf coming off it's feet before the cowboy touches him. It used to be just excessive jerk, like lading on his head or back, but this is if he falls down at all. I bet in a typical perf, over half of the contestants will be flagged out and fined. It is just crazy! |

Are they implementing it at the rodeos like Denver and Ft Worth thus far? Will change the type of horses guys are looking for too, that's for sure! |

If that is the case, and when the lady denied it to be a Muslim prayer, she probably meant that it was a non denominational prayer. I would also like to see the text of the prayer, BUT, I just have a feeling that the freedoms within which we enjoy a past time like rodeo wouldn't exist as such in an Islamic state.
Having an Islamic speaker at a rodeo feels a bit like having a fox in a chicken house. |
