What's everyone's options on them? We've been trailer shopping and I always looked past Merhows because I thought there were cheap trailers but someone told us they were one of the top of the line trailers.

How about compared to the older better quality Featherlites? We're not looking for something like a Bloomer or Platinum because we can't afford them. But want the best quality for the money.

well it would be which trailer had the stuff you liked.......strictly personnel preference, i know a lot of ppl that had issues with the axles on the featherlites so make sure you check them out

I would not say they are an entry level trailer. We had a verylite with a slide. It was very well constructed trailer. As with ANY brand of trailer the living conversion package is where you find cheap or very good quality. I would but another Merhow in a heartbeat. We did have a probelm with the trailer after the warranty period but I called the facotry and they were very quick to fix the problem and while it was there they went through it to to check all the welds, hinges and all the other hidden stuff that a person would not normally check and fixed what needed to be fixed! They were great to deal with.

A family member had the same experience. Even though there trailer messed up Merhows fixed it for free and check everything else out too.

Were pulling a old Featherlite now. We hear horrible things about the new Featherlites. We have had no problems with the the actual trailer but have had some problems with the LQ part. But part of that can be due to age.

Many years ago...Merhow's were top of the line trailers and were the choice of Dressage and Hunter Jumper people. I would love to see their new aluminum line up in person.

I have never owned one but have looked at them I think they are above middle entry.. especially with some of the top upper level trailer companies producing some cheaply made ones these days..
Id put it in my list for sure..

Don't know how true this is, but I was told to be careful buying used trailers from 04-06 models of most brands. The reason is that was when everybody and thier brother could get financing so trailers where mostly massed produced! They wanted them out as fast as possible
It kindof made sense to me! Lol

I am glad to see this thread. I have been look at a lightly used 09 with a weekend type lq. It is priced pretty close to what a new Exis or Lakota would be. Wondering if it would be the better option?

Some people I know had horses in their merhow LQ in the back stall were stopped legally on the highway, a car going 60 mph hit the back of the trailer.
The horses were unharmed, and I believe the last two vertical braces on the trailer were damaged.
For an aluminum, I would have never expected such little damage to the trailer
