You will like her alot, and maybe one day when I get out of this financial bind....I can buy a colt out of her!

I personally love sun frost and driftwood horses. You can't go wrong with both in a pedigree!

Pat Cowan is a 3/4 brother to PC Bronsin. Roy Cleveland bought his mama off Cowans after Pat Cowan tragically died and when she foaled he named him Pat Cowan in honor of Pat. If you google Pat Cowan and Roy Cleveland a picture comes up of him. I think Merrill Ranch has him now.
Wilywood is considered by many to be the top son of Orphan Drift, I prefer him as a broodmare sire , which is your case but no matter what he was an outstanding animal. Eliasons had him out in NE and still base their program on him.
I have a whole book on Driftwoods at home---I will scan some info for ya.

Yes, Merrill Ranch did have him. He passed away last year.

I am going to say that my guy has a bit of a stubborn steak, but IMO that is what will make him gritty.

Pat Cowan's do tend to be late bloomers.

LOVE that cross. The handfull of Wilywood's that I have seen sell, didn't go for cheap either. I have got a Sun Frost/Drifwood gelding that is such a nice horse. He may not be the fastest one out there, but he is gritty and you can do just about anything on him.

So, you know the rules ... where's the picture of her???

And you won't go wrong with a Pat sired horse ... LOTS of good rope horses from those lines and Wilywood - nice.

She needs some groceries and I pick her up Saturday. I've already paid for her. She has a PC Lock n Frost filly coming with her.

We have a stud colt (soon to be gelding) out of a Wilywood mare and we love him!!! He has the best attitude (quiet, patient, easy to get along with) and is beautiful to boot! He's so stout his back is muscled up like a show hog! lol

We have 3 Pat Cowan daughters & have been around several of his offspring. They are really nice horses & produce really nice with the right cross.
But now I'm going to cause a conflect. I wouldn't have a Wilywod if you gave it to me. They make super horses but their disposition leaves a lot to be desired. We have some really nice Wilywood mares & we got rid of all of them. We also have a really good friend who had a son of Wilywood that had won a lot of money & really proved his self in the arena, but his disposition stunk & so did his foals. We have worked on the disposition of of our program for years & they aren't for us, but as I said above they make super horses.
