Location: Southern Oregon | I shipped out a saddle I sold on the 6th of feburary. It was suppose to arrive on the 13th to is destination. It went into a sort facility on the 12th in Forest Park, IL and has not moved since!!!! I have called several different USPS online numbers and so has the lady that is waiting for it on the other end. They are giving us a run around.....uggggg... saying they aren't sure where it is, or telling us it will show up when it shows up. UGGGGG i am beyond frustrated at this point. The lady at my home town office convinced me to NOT ship it priority so I took her advice since I haven't shipped any of my other saddles priority either and have NEVER had an issue. I did put Insurance on it THANK GOODNESS!!!! My local office I called today and they are calling the MAIN office to see what they can find out for me, but my question is where do I go from here? Any one else have issues like this? I really want my saddle FOUND! What happens if I file a claim and then they find my saddle?

Location: Wisconsin | Good Luck! Had the same thing happen, it never showed up and I had to battle for months to get them to pay the insurance. I will NEVER ship a saddle through them again! |

Location: Kansas | I believe it can take a few weeks for your claim to be processed. I'd still go ahead and file the claim....if the saddle is found, let them know to cancel the claim. But for your sake, cover yourself and file the claim. |

Location: ND | I ship all my drawings priority with insurance. It's been years but I had one piece going to I believe Oregon & it took it THREE WEEKS to get there but it arrived fine. I've shipped 100's of drawings & have only had one piece damaged, USPS was easy to work with & paid the claim quickly. I'd probably just file the claim since you're talking a high $ item with a saddle and if it shows up cancel it. |

Location: TN | That's awful! I've only ever shipped one through UPS. It was expensive but I luckily didn't have any issues. Thanks for your post - I'll steer clear of USPS for shipping saddles! I hope the saddle is found and delivered promptly! |

Location: IL | I had issues with USPS! It's a joke! I sent bits and they never arrived at their destination. I had to refund the money and the lady never got the bits and they were never returned to me. I think it's cause it went thru IL, they probably lost it! |

Location: Kansas | I personally have never had any issues with USPS, except for damage to a saddle I just recently sold......and the lady blamed me even when I sent her zoomed up pictures of the saddle. They really don't care about how packages are handled, just toss everything. |

Location: Southern Oregon | I just got off the phone with MY post office lady, we are a tiny town. She called the sorting facilities supervisor and talked to her. She said she sees everything that goes through. She explained to her the box and the situation. She said she would of seen something that size and that she hadn't. But not to panic since they operate all night the night shift guy might have seen it. She also said with the bad weather she had to fly some of the priority stuff out so everything else got put on the back burner. She said a truck went out today filled with tons of parcel post stuff and that the saddle might be on that truck? She is looking into it personally and said that there is NO reason it should be there for that long and that she will get back to my post office lady no matter what the news is no later then tomorrow morning.
I'm in panic mode! Thank goodness, the saddles buyer is so awesome. I was worried she would be mad at me and she isn't. Said she is upset at USPS ect, but knows all is good on my end.
I took pics of the saddle right before I packed it, while I was packing it, how I packed, Picture of it fully packed with label and then pictures of all the receipts. I sure hope it is found. :(
I shipped a cutting saddle to the same town two years ago and NO Issues what so ever, so this is sad. Plus I LOVE that saddle. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | When you ship parcel post it only goes when there is room for it unlike if you ship priority it has to go. Illinois has had a lot of problems with snow and cold so I would say your package got buried until they catch up with the priority and first class packages first. I will never send anything or have anything shipped parcel post USPS again as it took 2 weeks to get a saddle I bought to get to me and that was in the summer and no one was having bad weather. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | We ship all our saddles here at work via FedEx with tracking and insurance is optional for the purchaser. We have never had a problem with a "lost" package but we have had problems with it taking almost a month for some customers up north to get packages because of the weather if they are sent regularly. The ones who choose to upgrade to guaranteed 3-4 days shipping almost always get their saddles on day 2.
I have shipped a saddle myself via fedex with no rush and it got to the buyer on day 5.... I'm in Tx. Buyer was in North Dakota... |

| I shipped a saddle I was trading in on a new saddle and when it arrived the tree was broken because the cantle wiggled - a lot. I had insurance put on it and filed a claim and they denied it because the saddle was not new. I won't ever ship a saddle through USPS again either. |

| don't get me started..... I have had many lost items through USPS. and the same situation as you, for a saddle sitting in one spot for a week. I even called the post office and they said it wasn't there, even though the tracking showed it was.
I sent a horse hair analysis, priority and insured, only had to go 150 miles and it took 29 days. LOL. |

| I hate to say this but I've heard a lot of stories about trying to collect insurance from USPS, so I hope they find your saddle and it reaches it's destination. Always - when shipping anything of value, get tracking, insurance and signature required on delivery. |

Location: California | I just had mine shipped Fed Ex and they picked it up at our house, delivered it to the ranch across the country and it took 4 days. I have so far been happy with Fed Ex. I have had a lot of large boxes shipped through them and had one show up two days later than the rest of them once but never had an issue. The insurance comes with it too. The higher you put the cost of the items in it are the more it charges you to ship but it isn't a big difference. I think I put $1750 on my last box and the shipping was maybe $15 more than if it was a $100 item. I also like getting a text every time it is moved or transfered. |

Location: Central TX | I have only shipped a saddle via UPS and they were awesome. Yes, it cost a little more than usps and probably FedEx, but it got there in 5 days with no damage. I live in TX and the buyer was in Michigan. Glad they found your saddle and are shipping it today!! |
