Once you get your horse injected do you still keep them on their joint supplements? I'm inclined to think yes, but just not sure if I'm wasting my money.

Thanks!

The only thing that has worked for my mare is hock injections, bi-annual Adequan, and weekly Legend.

I do give OxyMax, which has joint stuff in it, but I don't think that the oral supplements work as well as the above. JMO.

She is 9 and this is her first set of injections. She will continue to get her Oxygen Fluidity. She isn't very bad at all, just needs a boost. Her supplements have been helpful, but I think I may pull the joint supplement once we inject her to see if she still needs the oral one.

It makes me feel better so I keep feeding it. Along with the injections when he needs it, and Adequan.

I would hope that it helps a LITTLE bit, or at least gets them their daily vitamins/minerals. I feed Total Health (T.H.E.)

I always did, either IM glucosimine or pentosan.

Last time I had a horse injected (about 3 years ago) my vet also gave me a script for Adequan.  I never filled it and looking back now I wish I would have.

Yes I do. I think it helps maintain the joints in between injections. I feed Animal Element Performance Detox.

I do. I injected 6/2014 and did weekly Pentosan for the first monthly following, then monthly Pentosan every month after and Formula 1 Noni and my horse feels good.

How do you know when yourΒ horse needs hock injections? Sorry a littleΒ OTΒ

For me, my mare seemed sore, I had to chase her into her right lead into the canter. She wasn't as fluid and just didn't feel right. She was a bit more irritable. She wasn't limping, but she wasn't stepping up under herself like she usually did. So I took her to my vet for an exam. That's how I knew.

I've been struggling in deciding on a joint supplrment for my horse who just got injected.  The vet I used  just said to give a really good vitamin and mineral supplement, or Lubrisyn because it had good results.

I was thinking of ordering Platinum Performance....but then  I'm not sure if im entirely addressing the joints....but I don't want to be spending too much as we're not competing and he's a trail horse right now.

You Adequqan, Polyglycan, etc. people. Isn't that stuff injected? I know it's not into the joint, but do you do that yourself?
