Do NOT park in the Walmart parking lot directly across from the stadium. And don't think going into Walmart and purchasing something will keep you from being towed. The taxis are lined up after the rodeo waiting to take you to get your car out of impound. They have quite a racket going. Friends last year paid over $200.00 to get their car. They split the taxi fare with a couple of other people who were in the same predicament.

I've got friends that went to Cowboys games and said that although the stadium is big and state of the art, jerry didn't plan very well as the parking lot is very small in comparison. Are there shuttles?

Well there is a sign as you enter the Wal-Mart parking lot that says "NO stadium parking", or something to that effect. Not sure why they expected to be the exception. Globe Life Park (where the Texas Rangers play) is right next door, so there is ample parking, you just have to walk a little ways. AT&T stadium may not have enough parking for everyone, but there are plenty of other paid lots to choose from so you don't get towed.

I couldn't imagine how crazy that parking lot was when everyone was leaving!

We got there early to go through the vendors so we had no trouble getting a parking spot. I was also not very bad leaving there. I was impressed by how quickly we were able to get out of there. I didn't like the $35 to park but oh well.

$35 is nothing! To park AT the stadium during a Cowboys game is at least $70. It's so ridiculous.

There is plenty of parking as far as I could see. We had no trouble parking this year or last year. And if you don't want to pay the $30-$35 to park at the stadium there are businesses all around that offer parking for less if you want to walk.

There is less for The American than for other events because at least two lots are used for the FanZone and for contestant parking.

I don't think it's a "racket" to have to pay to get your car out of impound. If you park illegally in a business's lot, especially when there are signs everywhere telling you not to, you should expect it.

I have to agree.....it is NOT a racket if a person is parking illegally.....and with signs posted, that is the case.....I will bet the next time, they will pay the MUCH lower parking fees.......LOL .....Additionally, it always amazes me that people just "assume" that a business parking lot is for the PUBLIC!

We had no trouble parking, bought parking ticket in advance with our tickets.  Walmart had signs all over telling No Parking in their lot.  Good $35 spent.

It doesn't matter where you go but IMO, I think people abuse Wal-Mart parking lots. RV's park there so they don't have to pay for a plug. People park cars there to sell them. It's a mess. Here anyway. I know, kindo OT, just wonder if that's why it said no parking. Back on the topic, when I go to racetracks for NASCAR races, it doesn't cost a thing to park!

I hate the parking around AT&T Stadium. It's awful. I also feel that they need to build more restaurants that are capable of handling that number of people. Last year, we waited 3 hours to eat at Cracker Barrel. The food was good, but it was awful to wait. All of the other restaurants around there were the same wait time. They definitely need to upgrade the area around the Stadium.

We paid 25 and didn't have too much problem. We left during the bull riding (not our favorite event) and made it out plenty early to get in immediately at Salt Grass.

stalker.......

We went to SG, too!  They told us a 10-15 minute wait... it was about three minutes.  But once we left there were people lined up like crazy!

My friends were running late due to it taking longer to get there because of the nasty weather. Unfortunately, they didn't see any sign saying not to park there until it was pointed out to them after the rodeo. Their local Walmart allows overnight parking and many RVers use it. If it wasn't a racket why were there several cabs waiting to take people to get their impounded vehicles? In the Walmart parking lots where parking isn't allowed I doubt they call a wrecker to come haul it off.

I'm sure their local Walmart isn't directly across the street from a major event venue. If they allowed free stadium parking, EVERYONE would be fighting for spots there, and there would be zero spots for shoppers. All of the businesses anywhere near AT&T stadium all have prominent signs stating "no event parking". Some of them do offer shuttles, as long as you have a receipt from that day from them.
The cabs are lined up because they KNOW that people will blatantly ignore the signs and assume they won't get caught.

Our walmart allows RV to park overnight as well as Semis when the weather is bad. However, they don't allow cars to park their if they are being shuttled somewhere else. They let RV's and Semi's park there because they can buy groceries, use the restroom and leave in the morning. They don't take up parking from customers trying to shop because they shopped as well. Our walmart doesn't even allow parked vehicles to be parked longer than 15 minutes if they aren't going inside. They don't allow us to park and wait for friends or anything if we are meeting someone to go some place else.

I actually got a ticket a while back for waiting on my SO so we could go eat in town together... It was for Loitering. LOL But they had signs up!!  I park across the street at the bank now to wait for him if I have too lol I went in to ask them before I started waiting there. They laughed at me and said of course because they would be closed.

The cabs were waiting because they knew what would happen. People would park there and NEED a ride. Easy business if you ask me. Just because a cab is parked in the parking lot doesn't mean that you can park there and that it is a racket.

Walmart allows RV's to park over night at the Walmart's around us.
