Location: Somewhere between the badlands and worselands | My 1/2 bobcat has been bagged up and leaking milk as well as showing signs of being close to labor for 3 days. Why is she holding the kittens hostage!!!! Anyone else had anything similar happen?

While I've never seen or had a 1/2 bobcat ( was this intentional? is that the thing now?)... I can tell you that domestic cats often have milk production a few days ahead of actual labor. One thing to consider...are you giving her a comfortable safe place to have the kittens that she will relax in? Are you leaving her alone? Cats don't want or need us to hover. They prefer solitude.

One of our mommas had 3 babies in a grease rag box. I have no idea how she got in there in the first place and could clean her babies. She couldn't even bend around to get to them, we walked into a garage and she was sitting there with her head sticking out of the hole smiling at us! we had to tear the box apart to get her and her babies out! Thankfully shes a really good trusting mom and let us deal without a fight. |

Not all of them. My cat drives me insane when she has kittens. I have to sit with her in the closet until she is done, if I leave she leaves her babies and gets all up in my face meowing... until I follow her to the closet lol. If I don't follow her she will try to have one in the floor right in front of me. She is a weird cat though, more like a dog. That is probably why I like her so much! Thank goodness I finally got her fixed though.
I want to see a picture of your cat too lyndi, you have me curious. |

She had to give him away when I started walking as a baby bc he would pounce on my head LOL. She said he liked me up to that point. |

Shareasa our cats are weird. Remember when chum had her whole litter in my lap lol
And to answer everyone else I'm definitely not hovering. I'm gone usually from 6 am to 7 pm or later. She has access to plenty of dark secluded spots. When I'm home she is constantly on top of me though.

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Never seen a half bob cat! She's pretty!! But I did have a bobcat as a "pet" at our old house. She chilled out on our rock ledges and came up to the house to eat our scraps we threw out for the dogs... But she would run to the nearest tree when we came outside. Need less to say the dogs just sat there and would watch her eat when she came up to the house every afternoon to eat.
She had babies in our storm cellar one year and we were starting to get the babies used to us just because we thought it was really neat for them to be that close and they really are gorgeous animals... But we eventually called the Game Warden when we started to rethink the whole situatuon... He relocated them to a sanctuary.
Really cool animals tho!! |

| A bobcat will usually kill domestic cats but sometimes they will mate with one. I have seen a few half bobcat litters of barn cats. |

Location: Back in MT BABY!!! | Is this her first litter? Cats are funny I've had one have her kitten in my lap and an other that we wouldn't see until her kittens were 2 or 3 weeks old before she would come out of hiding with them. We raised bobcats growing up. Had one named Harvey that was a runt and we didn't know if he would make it so we ended up keeping him for ourselves. When he was little the barn cats would whip the snot out of him so he hung with the dogs...when he grew up he was HUGE and still afraid of our barn cats :)

This is her first litter. We had a big fluffy cat come visit, so we are going to have flob cats (fluffy bobcats) |
