Would you buy a saddle with this much color on it? I kinda dig it. The turquoise saddle anyways. I'm bored at work. =P

no because those are cheaply made saddles.....and Id rather spend money on a quality saddle, than having to constantly pay vet bills/chiro because of an ill fitting saddle

Lol well I meant, like just the colors. I mean, most places will custom your saddle how you want it if you pay for it. I'm not big on bright. But I kind of like the turquiose, it's still a bit much though. A little less blue would be prettier. I just like the accented color.

ETA: I don't consider a 400-800 saddle cheap. But I wouldn't buy it without references. They also have the dimensions only of the saddles. If you size your horse right, you can have most saddle places adjust it to fit your horse as long as it's not a huge size difference. Just sayin'. AT tleast... the saddlery peeps I know can do that.

If you are buying new... a 400-800 dollar saddle is cheap.

You can get a decent used one for that price, but not a new one (not anymore, anyway). You will be money ahead to buy a decent brand used one or save longer for a nicer one.  JMHO

I'm not a fan of any of those particular saddles but I do like one to have a colored seat. I've thought about having one custom made for my girl (after she's done growing). Black leather, white piping, turquoise seat, and those turquoise aluminum stirrups, matching headstall and breastcollar, white blanket, white boots. My girls black. I think it will be sharp. She's not done growing though yet. It feels almost like I'm planning for a wedding, lol.

Nope, don't dig them at all. If I'm spending that much money I want it to be on something that I will like for a long time, and I will easily be able to re-sell. There is a much smaller market for saddles with color on them, and since my tastes change over time, I know I wouldn't have a saddle like that forever.

I love the look of the turquoise one....I guess it's the old rodeo queen in me. lol I've always liked bright colors, fringe and lots of bling. I'd like us to go back to wearing sequin shirts. I love those, too.....but I'd want my saddle to be a Bob Marshall. ;)

LOL I completely understand this sentiment. I have a 3 year old, and I'm just waiting for him to blow up on me, he's still very narrow, though tall already! I want something with color on it, and I will be having one custom made. It will be dark oiled leather as well. But it wont be that... bright.  I want something with maybe a turquoise cross  tooled on the back, and some turquoise conchos.. I think I'll keep  the seat dark just for the sake of showing dirt/dust.

I was just bored and came across these goofing off. That last one is a doozy!

Would I buy those particular saddles? No. Because they are crap quality but I sure as heck would buy a colorful Double J or other high quality saddle. I'm all about flash and standing out. I'd take something like this:http://doublejsaddlery.com/i-8951506-pozzi-pro-barrel-racer-sbp044.html

Personally I am not into the bright saddles. I like a nice tooled saddle with some pretty conchos. I DO like to change up my polos, breastcollar, etc. and use really bright colors there.

It seems the bright saddles aren't as easy to sell- I always see them sitting on the FB pages, unless they are a high end brand (like Double J or Martin), and even then it seems more people like the non-painted saddles.

I guess maybe because short of the rodeo scene, there's not much you can show with them in. The less bling the better in a lot of the horse industry.
