Location: Phoenix | I currently stall my horse in a 12x12 stall. However, there is a long run behind his stall that is available and I'm wondering if I should take it. The only thing is, it's only 10 feet wide, rather than 12 feet wide. I like the fact that he'd have more room to walk around, but I worry that if he were to roll he might hit his legs. He doesn't roll a whole lot in his stall anyways though, and he's a pretty sensible horse--he's not the type that gets into wrecks...KNOCK ON WOOD. The run is 10x36 and it runs behind the 3 stalls. He keeps to himself and I don't predict him bugging the other horses. The ground is a little uneven, but that doesn't bother me. I'd add shavings. And owner is fixing the side with the wire and adding more bars for horizontal support. What do you think?

Location: Phoenix | I guess I needed the reassurance. I hate having him in a stall too but I really like the care he's getting and the atmosphere of this place. But he does get turned out in a big dry lot 2 nights a week. Wish I could give him the pasture that he so desires but those are nonexistent in AZ!
I'm going out today to get the new shoe pics! I'm hoping it looks better. Some days I like the shoe job, some days I'm not sure if anything changed....the first round of pics I took had horrible lighting. |
