Location: Texas | The second year of vet school, especially spring semester, has been INSANE. I have never had so many exams in one semester. There is pretty much either a test, quiz, or essay every week. I think we had 5 exams in 7 days at one point.
The next 4 weeks is going to be so intense, I will be lucky to sneak off to a race or two before finals.
I just got my pictures back not too long ago from this Easter barrel race I went to in Marshall. It was the first weekend, EVER, I think in my life, that Lucy and I had a 100% clean weekend. Actually, between her suspensory injury, EPM, and her pregnancy, that is truly I think the fourth big show I have taken her to in the 4 years I have owned her. She did great.. we had bobbles and ran a 15.3 and 15.2 both of our runs. We were last in the 1D average, would have been nice to have won the 2D average.. LOL. Bunny didn't have a great weekend.. still trying to figure out how I can get her to work the same at big shows the way she works at the local ones. Disappointing but we will get there.
Then last Friday we had our White Coat ceremony at vet school. It's the big transition from our classroom learning to the start of our clinical learning next year. Don't get me wrong- we will still be in the classroom A LOT next year. But we now get electives that have us in the clinics, and we start Junior Surgery.
The picture from White Coat I attached is of my horse buddies. The tallest guy goes fox hunting, the other girl is a WICKED polo player, and the dark haired guy also played polo in college. They all go riding together and I am their western riding friend!

Location: Texas | Thanks. it's been very intense. I can say however that 20+ hour semesters feel normal now. And I've managed to ride and compete when people told me there would be no way.. What a rush! |

I cannot imagine how much you cram into such a short period of time in school. I've been less than impressed with what I've seen in the past few months at OSU in their Vet Program... It's nice to see someone with some functional knowledge of horses going into the industry! |

Thank you. I hope it helps me out down the road having a background in competing and understanding all our frustrations as horse owners... |

As for Bunny- Have you thought about trying the new pozzi relax paste from oxy-gen? It's been getting great reviews! |

I think you will find it will help a TON! My vet grew up riding cutting horses and switched over to barrel racing a couple years after she finished vet school. I know I really appreciate having the insight of not only a vet, but a fellow competitor. She has an incredible understanding of a performance horse's needs! |
